I think Ty and David have a very good rhythm of give and take going in this series. For me, it is a joy to watch and I love the format. Both are getting their thoughts across in the course of the study and both seem to be thoroughly enjoying playing off each other's insights. I wouldn't change anything. Thanks, guys!

What I understand this allegory of Hagar and Sarah to mean is, (looking at it through the glasses of what Jesus said, which is that the scriptures are all about HIM) is that, it is God who accomplishes the promise. Man and his "efforts" are not going to bring about the promise. Who do you trust, who do you believe? Believe and trust God 100%.

Thankyou both again.... I sense the moving of the Holy Spirit in all your presentations... what a blessing!! Re: The Sabbath...The Principal of Sabbath from creation was and is "REST" It became a law later when the law was given, and the Law stipulated it as a 24 hour period within the Old Covenant Law. The Old Covenant has passed, but there remains the "REST" the principal never changed but the 24hr period did. I believe the Bible is an integration of thought, thus the Sabbath was very much an issue in the New Covenant, when asked which is your favorite commandment, Jesus NEVER said that the 4th commandment was his favorite, even though the Sabbath still existed as a 24hr period, because the OC was still in effect...... Instead, He said "LOVE" was his favorite commandment, and He changed the Law Hebrews 7:12, and instituted His New Commandments through the principles from the Old Covenant. He showed it by taking authority of the Sabbath, healing on the Sabbath, reaping corn on the sabbath, Matthew 12:1. Then announcing himself as LORD of the Sabbath, He became the end of that covenant Sabbath "Day" the 24hr requirement, was gone. It was a part of the Nomos or Law Torah... that could NOT be kept Holy By ANYONE, the people failed and so God removed and abolished it. Thus Jesus placed it IN HIMSELF... The principal of the Sabbath from creation was the principle of "REST".. Not 24hrs of humans trying to keep each hour holy...(It has NEVER been accomplished) Here is why the whole system was abolished Ephs 2:15.... Our ultimate REST is in the New Covenant Christ, who established that Spiritual Rest "IN HIM" and Not in a day, which was only the practice, the type, or shadow of the real thing to come... The "Person" of Christ Jesus, The day becomes a PERSON... thus Col 2:16 tells us not to judge others about the day they choose to keep as a day of worship, the 7th day Sabbath is clearly pointed out in that verse as NON obligatory; Strongs G4521 "sabbaton" , it was under the Old Covenant Law of commandments, it was a part of the school master, Galatians 3:24. That passed away, Hebrews 8:13. Yet leaving the principal of ultimate REST IN CHRIST. Hebrews 4: 9. Hebrews 4 establishes Jesus as our eternal rest that begins on earth...Hallelujah!! Romans Chapter 14:5 States the same, do not judge. however It is good to take a day SAT or SUN, or WED, whatever suites you and worship, fellowship and take a Rest day on the day that is convenient for us; because our ultimate rest in Jesus who established the rest IN HIM by saying Come unto ME and find Rest, you who labor and are heavy burdened ( note ALL Sabbath language) and I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Matt 11:28. Therefore the New Sabbath is IN CHRIST and Not in a day. Covenants come and they do go...Just like circumcision came and went... so did the sabbath day. The sabbath was the seal of the old covenant, Not Now.... the the New Covenant Seal is that Of the Holy Spirit (Ephs 1:13) and written upon the heart of flesh as said in Galatians 4:6, it is the Spirit of God Himself that is written upon the heart of flesh as promised in Jeremiah 31, and Ezekiel 36. This is true liberty.... There is a lot more I could share about the Sabbath... it was also a memorial feast day... Numbers 28:7-11; and required double more sacrifices than any other day. That was some serious work for the priest on the Sabbath. Sabbath is sensitive to us as SDAs or Ex SDAs... But the truth is we cannot allow cognitive dissonance to take over our thinking and I had to admit to the truth in the word that the Sabbath is non obligatory ( As Paul said) even thou I still love to worship on that day, it is my day of choice. My ultimate rest is in Jesus. If I ever loose track of the days of the week, I would not be a guilty christian; because my rest my savior Is always with me 24/7, my blessed Jesus. SO if it's not about a day... there is obviously NO SUNDAY LAW ISSUE. Its all about do you have the seal of God the Holy Spirit of Jesus written upon your heart? or do you follow the Anti Christ the world of idolatry?

Yes, God has always saved by Grace, Noah found Grace, Abraham found Grace, etc... never saved by the Law. However an honest read of the text, removing self and pre-indoctrination, with proper exegesis, context, history and biblical integration. Whether we like it or not, the Sabbath 4th Commandment is a part of Hager the Law of bondage given on Mt Sinai which was the 10 Commandments in which the 4th commandment existed. We are Not under Hager, Let the text speak for itself, without human logic and reasoning and that's exactly what you will see.... We cannot try to preserve something that was done away with. The "Sabbath Day" was made obsolete... vanished decayed. We cannot pick and choose which commandment to hold onto as well as which one is most important, the covenant is a whole package deal Gal 5:3, inc the Sabbath day so If you keep back one part of Law, you must bring back ALL of them and keep them all. Thus you return to the beggarly elements of the Law, as you said in your earlier video. We must integrate scripture with scripture appropriately. Since the Sabbath is a part of a WHOLE system (Covenant) that went away; we must figure out where did the Sabbath go and how is it expressed. Well... Paul said, the glorious (the Law) became the Most Glorious (Jesus) 2 corinthians 3:9, don't you desire the More Glorious Thing, the better thing? yes! so lets not be afraid to say the Sabbath day WAS abolished so we could have Jesus....therefore the Sabbath day is really a mere cultural or custom day of worship for the Jews and by choice, for us as is Friday worship for the Muslims, and Sunday worship for other Christians. Everyone has a reason to keep a day, but honestly there is no reason Col 2:16 other than it's healthy to take one day out of 7 to rest if you so wish..... No part of the coded Law remains.... but the more glorious one who is the New Covenant Himself expresses all things in the divine nature of the lord of the sabbath, who is our Sabbath rest. In Him we live and move and have our being. Again we must deal with the cognitive dissonance, that this teaching causes, but the "day" is GONE and is now inside of Jesus, our complete REST. Every principal of the Law is Inside of Jesus, He is the Personification of the Law, the embodiment of it. If we don't remove that veil ENTIRELY we will remain blind (Laodicea) and not able to see the fullness of HIS glory. 2 Corinthians 3:6-18. I prefer the eternal Sabbath In Christ, where HIS righteousness possesses the holiness needful for the Rest, rather than the less glorious 24hr day that I must WORK to keep holy. Please contemplate this, study it.... I was an Adventist all my life, now I'm a Christian and Follower of Jesus. I choose to worship on Saturday's even thou I worship all week long, but only because it is my custom that I was raised with, but I know it is NOT obligatory and has no saving Grace.

Hello Dr. Ez, i have heard this argument a few times and, in a sense, i agree. My rest is Jesus (Mat. 11). Your argument is compeling and well articulated for the sabbath, but how does that applies for "thou shall not murded" or adultary, etc? How does these commandments find its fufillment in Jesus? If i no longer compelled to keep the sabbath commandment, should i keep the murder one or the 8th, 1st, etc? I don´t know if i made myself clear...
@Dr.Ez.ANewLivingWay3 жыл бұрын
@@hectorado Hello Hector, yes indeed you made yourself clear. It is a legitimate question that we have all asked. The Bible says, we were under the Law until Jesus came... The law pointed out sin and pointed us to Christ. Gal 3 24 "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith". Justified means to be made right... the law cannot make you right...So upon fulfilling the law, Christ was the end of the law and embodied its principles within himself. He is our righteousness, if we choose to believe He has accomplished what we could not. Righteousness bares the fruit of the spirit, against which there is no Law...Galatians 5:22,23. Therefore righteousness excludes the law, Because you are in him, you are declared righteous, and share in His divine nature. Thus righteousness IS an upholding of righteous principles, it is a law unto itself. Righteous people are those in a conscientious relationship with Jesus, sensitive to sinful thoughts, actions and deeds. Thus they do not practice iniquity or purpose in their heart to sin, less they place themselves under the conviction of the Holy Spirit and if ignored back under the Law of death and condemnation. It is therefore a given that the instructions in the 10 commandments are fulfilled (being kept) by the person who accepts Christ righteousness as their own. In Christ the righteous are sealed with the Holy Spirit Ephs 1:13 and abide under the New Covenant Law John 13:34, The New Commandments in the New Covenant is the "ENTOLE G1785" meaning All the Sayings of Jesus, must be obeyed.... and thus it is the Holy Spirit who NOW convicts the heart of sin, (Not the Law of sin) John 16:8. Christ is your conviction for sin and not a rule of Law.... In Christ you will be convicted when you fall short, when you make mistakes, when you think wrong, and even when as a righteous person you fall into sin (Ezekiel 18). Righteous people get up when they fall... under the conviction of the Holy Ghost and confess to Jesus their advocate, 1 John 1:9, and press on with their journey. If they ignore the voice and pleading of God then they may place themselves back under the law of sin... The Law of sin and death is the 10 commandments (2 Cor 3:7) It is ONLY for the unrighteous as stated in: 1 Tim 1:9 "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient,...." But Christ righteousness is for those who believe, believers have another Law, ( there are two Laws in existence) we fall under the Law of the Spirit (note; this is a different law, New Covenant Law ) Romans 8:2-4. It is the Law of Liberty, Love and grace. This is the law by which the Righteous will be judged, James 2: 12. God will look to see if we have the seal of the New Covenant which is The Spirit of God written upon the heart as promised in Ezekiel 36:26. and fulfilled as evidenced in Galatians 4:6. Thus we walk in this Spirit Galatians 5: 16 and uphold every lawful instruction through the righteousness of Christ.

@@Dr.Ez.ANewLivingWay i totally agree with you, 100%. We are not saved by law kepping, but by Jesus did for us. And we cannot and should not and must not keep the law as and effort to justify ourselves. Christ is our righteousness. However, since we are broken beings with a tendency to sin (this until Christ comes and restores us fully) the law, as you said, points us to Jesus. Because we have this tendency in us, God give us His law to let us know when we mess up and need to go back to Christ... In this sense, the law is needed to point us back to Christ. My point is when we are more and more inlove worh Christ and grow in our relationship with Him, the law keeping becames a reality in our lives as a result of Chrsit living in us. So... i think we are kind of in the same boat in the sense that we agree that the law points to Jesus, it cannot save and the law is fufill in us by the faithfullness of Christ and our faith in Him

Coming from a female perspective on the Haagar topic. It us possible that it seemed like a good idea until it happened and Haagar became arrogant and snobby towards her and then the reality of it all blew up in her face. The age old "it seemed like a good idea at the time" kind of thing.
