Anyone else watching in 2024? And are annoyed because Blender has changed a lot in 3 years? But don't wanna go find a different tutorial series cuz they're all just as outdated? And cuz Ryan does the best job at giving instructions?

6:06 ctrl+B is not working for rendering specific area in blender version 2.93. I tried changing in camera, viewport display (passepartout) but it doesn't work perfectly. Can u pls tell me another way to do that? I am very interested in learning blender after searching a lot of different videos. I finally found ur channel and I began learning. I love the way u explain everything very clearly.
@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I'm not sure why its not working. You should just press control B, and drag a box around the camera. Although, if your in Blender Eevee, it won't work.

One thing I like about your tutorials, apart from their content of course, is that you speak clearly so I (being profoundly deaf) do no need the auto captioning which is annoying at best. :)

I can't get inside my house. Every time I try and zoom in, it stops when I reach the walls or roof of the house. I've tried entering my house from several different angles but it still won't let me inside. Any ideas how I can get in to add the light? (21:05 of the video)
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, you could just scale the house up so that it is bigger. You could also Pan sideways into the house. Hold down the Shift key and Middle Click to Pan.

I know I am a bit late here, but at 8:15 you talk about making a different material for the nail, I am having an issue where my 2nd material keeps overriding the material for the whole object. For instance, when I used L to select the linked verticies and applied the white, it did not show up and instead it all stayed brown. I went around this by selecting everything and making it white, then selecting everything on the fence except the nail and making it brown again. This worked but when I went to change the metalic data for "nail" once i got to 1, it turned the entire fence white. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
@imaybebadproductions885111 ай бұрын
update - I changed the texture to christensen-burley instead of "Random Walk" and just continued on, I changed the color to a grey and this made it work. My first fence was in a shaded area and was hard to see the metallic but once i did the other fences i could see it.

Whe you were shift duplicating the fence, you could of used alt~d instead. This would make the duplicates as instaces. Then you only need to apply the materials once, and the instanced meshes would follow the original object's materials. Another option would be selecting the duplicate objects, select the original object, making sure the original object is the active selected onject, ad the hit ctrl~l and select material.

After i colored the house the whole render became very noisy, any idea why? After switiching to eeve it's sharp, however with cycles I do have the GPU compute option... Even though I do have the option, can it be that my graphics card just ins't good enough for cycles? It's gtx 1050 ti

Hello For the bricks on the chimney: were they supposed to be each one isolated? When I added material, all the bricks colored up. And then I tried to have them have different color shades generated but they don't want to. What I'm doing wrong?
@mightydeathlash2867Ай бұрын
Also, in the beginning, when I selected a brick, it never wanted to select one, it always selected all the bricks together. That's how they all colored up at once. I was doing all this in the shading tab. In the vid it looks like you're in the layout tab. Not sure if that's supposed to be important.
