Oh i love this… hint for marking your rows. I got a package of pins from MSQC that have numbers and cuz of postage to the UK find some numbered beads and put a pin thru the hole and glue, making row pins. Did see a tutorial on this but dont remember which one. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Been watching you for a couple months and truly enjoy them and you. 💚

I label my rows and I do press my rows in different direction. If I don’t do this I get very confused and my seams do not nest. I am learning a lot watching your videos with quilting 😊 Thank you so much

Heather, so far it is looking pretty good. I have put some of the blocks up on my design board (flannel hanging in my 8 foot window) and it really is pretty. My daughter decided that she wanted the geese randomly placed rather than 3 or 4 in a row. We will still get the secondary yellow geese from the solid yellow.

I'm not much of a sew-er so I've only made strip quilts like Spirit of St Louis and Log Cabin. But the quilt you just pieced is jabsolutely gorgeous. I hope I can set up the machine and try my hand at it again. Perhaps I'll be brave and try to have flying geese on the bed!!! Thank you for sharing.

Hi Kate, You're faster than the wind! Already part 4-and the top is finished sewn. Really impressive. I've never sewn the flying geese in my life before. But I don't think they belong to the quilt blocks that a beginner should start with. To your method of sewing and ironing: I believe that everyone needs to find out the method that is appropriate for him. And I find it totally exciting to get to know different methods. Awesome Awesome. The colors are great! But when I saw the Liberty fabrics; I almost fainted. I love Liberty fabric and to see the assorted ones you have was overwhelming. I bought a pack when I was at the Liberty in London. I have them in my Vault of Treasures. They are going with me when I "go" LOL

Love the quilt top and the beautiful colors . That is the way I was taught to press the seams. But I watch a podcast( can't remember which one) and they pressed their seams open and it decreases the bulk even more and easier to stitch. Can't wait to get out of this boot where I fractured the small bone one the outside of your foot. Then I can unpack and get my sewing /craft room all set up to sew. Hopefully to be able to sell some of my items I make. Happy stitching and creating lovely items. Got to make me a design wall with flannel.

Just found this tutorial. I love the different colored blocks of geese. A great way to use us some of my scraps. Probably could make several quilt tops with just my scraps. LOL Love your tutorials. I look for them sometime every day.

Kate your quilt top looks great! Will you be putting a border on it? I decided to go out yesterday in all the wind. My one daughter works at the local vet clinic. They put on Facebook a picture of a Yorkie (small dog) and called the picture a small dog warning. They wanted people to leash their small dogs before putting them outside so they would not blow away in the wind! I stopped at the fabric shop and purchased a piece of Spring green batik. I thought it would look cheery for my block exchange. We only had a light dusting of snow here but more forcasted to come!!
