I was very present during Shaykh Chirri lectures during the holy months of Ramadan at the Islamic Seminary 50-11 Queens Blvd, in New York. Invited by another great Shaykh, Muhammad Sarwar. These lectures happened over three or four Ramadans where he sold some of his books and gave away some. Please, let me make this clear, Shaykh Muhammad Sarwar; Muhammad Jawad Chirri; and Syed Saeed Akhtar Rizvi are the three scholars who are responsible for laying the foundations of Shi'a Islam among Africans-Americans in New York. Shayks Chirri and Shaykh Rizvi will never be forgotten, and every day we asked Allah(swt) to grant Shaykh Sarwar the longest life possible. Ameen.

@@MrUmar72 because it's a word..Words have more then one definition.He didn't say He's the pure and sinless Holy Imam. A person can be a Imam(leader) of preyera,ummah etc etc

@@josephmackey7893 , its a profound pleasure to be talking to you brother. Actually "a word has many meanings" is centuries old excuse of our Muslim brothers to turn away from the masterdom of Mola Ali. So 1) If any language has different meanings of same word then that will cause confusion in transmitting the message. And that would basically be a weakness of the language. Esp when it has legal implications. E.g. word 'Car'. Though there can be many types of cars but all those cars will have some common characteristics which make them cars. On the other hand a truck can't be a car. While saying that a word has many meanings we legalize that artificial door to bypass from the most elaborate sermon of Rsulullah in which he mentioned who will be Imam/wali/mola after him. On the other hand a word may give different sense on two different occasions but that has to do with sentence not the word itself. This confusion can't be attributed to the message of the last Prophet of Allah and Allah himself. So it's a bogus excuse made up in the above mentioned factories and unfortunately have been marketed to Shia as well. 2) If this was true then why don't we use the titles of Rasool i.e. Messenger and Ilah i.e. Supreme authority for others in general terms ?? Answer is that actually this disease has come from those who are deniers of Walayat/Imamat only, they will never extend the words of Ilah and Rasool to their general meanings but will always do it to the titles given to Ahle Bait by Rsulullah after him. So while there is a definition of 'Imam' in Quran this word can not be stretched beyond that definition. For rest of the things like prayer and hajj we can and must have other words. There is no binding of word Imam for one who leads in these. Even the choice of their leaders in presence of an infallible Imam is that of his. But in his absence while we go about living these orders of Allah we can and must have other titles for their leaders. I think the word Imam for these have been intentionally taken to distort its actual scope and meaning. Allah knows the best. And at different occasions after the 12th Imam due to outside pressures of governments and impatience of the people who believed in this and haste of opportunity grabbers slowly and gradually the believers of twelve imams actually started to give / attach with their local leaders those authorities which are preserved for twelve imams only. For e.g. Taqleed. Just analyse the difference of taqleed of an infallible vs taqleed of a fallible who has to strive his entire career to achieve master in some subject and even then he can't claim to attain every thing. And the ignorant Muslims esp the believers of 12 imams follow them as if they are absolute authority. So taqleed of an infallible will never be as narrow as which foot to carry first on prayer mat etc but in taqleed of fallible it is all such nonsense. So this must be stopped. And the first step in my view is to preserve the titles of infallibles only for them and not to stretch the terms explained and defined in Quran beyond their quranic limits. Let me know your thoughts
