Good thing Amos was there! It would have been quite the excavator dance to back up the hill while simultaneously extending the boom to keep a constant tension on the chain so the truck didn't roll back down.

Absolutely Wonderful. Amos is great. In the old days of the west, kids learned how to drive around ten on tractors. Don’t know how many times the sheriff had words with me for driving my dads tractor to town on public roads when I was about ten. It’s just how it was. It’s great that Amos is working with you. He is learning real world skills. I just keep licking my chops over that stone. My stone experience is limited. I know how to slate a roof. Working with slate shingles is way easier than the bigger blocks. So looking forward to getting back into this. Knock the rust off of my timber framing skills and pick up new stone skills.

I’m so glad you gave us a part 2! And glad it wasn’t too much of a problem. You have this urge to want to tell us what’s going to happen before we see it. Don’t do that. YT is a visual medium where the motto is, ‘Show. Don’t Tell.’ Whenever you can show us, just show us. Add voice over, only if needed to clarify what’s happening (like how your kid is in the truck and you’re blowing the horn to let him know to back-up little by little). Telling us you got out easily and that it wasn’t a problem sucks all the tension and anticipation out of seeing it. More exciting for us to wonder how you’ll get the truck out, if anything else will go wrong. It’ll seem like an action-packed video even though it was easy (which is better for views). Great though to let us know what happened w/the vid - why there’s a Part 2. You could’ve shown the initial piece where you’re driving up the trail but w/o sound. Voice over that ‘In my last video, I explained we were driving up to get some stone for The Stone Trust. At one point, my truck fell off the road a bit, and it was a cliffhanger bc I didn’t realize I hadn’t uploaded the entire video. Just my inexperience. Now, here’s Part 2 so you can see what happened.’ Or something along those lines. Filming yourself on the trail, like you did, was fine too. Loved that you were walking while talking (Excellent!). You’re doing great, Alfred! Really excited for your channel. The visuals in these vids were fantastic w/all the greenery. Don’t know what a ‘field stone’ is. Just stone you get in nature? Very cool you gave a shout-out to The Stone Trust. Have a good one!

Glad things worked out Alfred....Keep moving forward. Given time and circumstance you might think about dressing the driveway with hardcore. My perspective it was a big deal. Your son learned a few life lessons. Don’t loose your temper. How do drive a truck - backwards. How to engineer your way out of a bind. How to communicate via horn. And, hopefully the importance of not getting stuck in a tight spot. In my mind, definitely a big deal. The two of you will forever remember that day.

Nice, thank you! I figure you would pull it back with the Cat arm bit by bit. I was a little concerned for Amos if the chain snapped, but I guess it's not quite as dangerous as wire rope. Do I see some elevation off to the felt of the trailer back between the trees? Maybe you have overburden there you could move around to broaden the landing for a nice turn around. You can say better than I! Thank you for the video!!!
