Great stuff Samuel. One application of this that springs to mind for me is using this technique as a starting point for making new version of jazz standard tunes.

Absolutely. It almost begs for a reharm 😂

Thanks Samual. I'm not a jazz guy but your lesson can be applied to any style. It was very valuable to me. I'll keep an eye out for more of your videos.

Thanks for watching! I look forward to the potential of this method in other styles too. Stay tuned 👍🏾

Thanks for this! BTW: You set the track to B2 groove, then edited B1 in the groove mixer. Did I imagine seeing you wondering why you weren't hearing the groove? LOL

Hey thanks a lot for this valuable lesson, just need one help though trying to find which video have you shown these fillers, licks etc that you are using in the near end of the video, and are these available directly or for sale.. please help me out with these thank you brother !

I don’t think I made one on the fills specifically… most of it is just eighth note, triplet groupings with accents on the last note, placed in different parts of the drum kit. If you go to samuelprather.com and shoot me an email, I might just create a package for you. What would you want in it? How much do you think it’s worth? I’m still figuring all this stuff out😂

I know maybe it's too much to ask.....But can you make some vids about how to program realistic brass (sax, trumpet) in jazz........?
@blackpranther2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great idea, horns are tricky but there are some tricks that can make parts sound more realistic. Solos… IDK lol

@@blackpranther I’ve seen someone try to pull it off using breath midi controller. Looks promising but I’m not a wind player so haven’t checked them out yet. 🤯
