David goes to check the back half of the property where the timber harvest will take place and finds out that the access and landing road is put in. This will be kept in place so that we can continue to develop access into the back half of the property. Eventually a network of trials and campsites will be available along the Catawissa creek.

I'm glad to hear you are working with your forester to keep some trees. I'm super interested in managing properties for quality wildlife and I see a lot of properties where people "high-grade" the trees: basically taking the best and leaving the rest. Over time that leaves the whole area filled with trees that will never reach their genetic potential. Leaving some good trees, even though the timber may be valuable, is great for native wildlife. I'm enjoying seeing the progress on the farm!

Thanks a lot for always checking out the content! It is important.. I made a write up about our experience and posted it to reddit. Maybe I should link it in the description as well. You are absolutely correct.. our neighbors high graded there property and it is depressing. We took the minimum desireable amount and wanted to free up the crowns of similar sized trees that were overlapping. It was a really great process because I got to walk the whole property and we discussed our preference for stewardship and did not want to cut for just $
