Of course cancer is a completely different thing than mental illness but BOTH are out of somebody’s control and bring suffering and challenges to those who have it. Cancer is physical and a horrible disease and can be fatal for many. But mental illness...being a prisoner in your brain... is NOT a choice. Ok so here’s the thing... in regards to THIS PARTICULAR REBOOT ! There were six key members to this group to lead the show to the success it was... and only two so far are part of it... that would be Mario Lopez & Elizabeth Berkeley... now they are gonna be parents of a student who happens to go to the school they used to attend ( Bayside High ) and unfortunately Four key characters have not been asked back yet as far we know... Mark Paul , Dustin Diamond , Lark and Tiffani Amber have not been asked... Mark is currently on Mixed-ish so he can’t put all his time and energy into this... Dustin did an Unauthorized SBTB story a few years ago and he possibly isn’t invited back for most of the trash he included in the movie regarding his cast mates...there’s several reasons we could come up with as to why some have not been asked back yet... but I don’t think her mental illness is a key factor in her not coming back

The creator, Peter Engel, said that Lisa Turtle was supposed to be a wealthy Jewish American Princess, but Lark auditioned and owned the role and he immediately made Lisa a wealthy Black American Princess. Plus, it was one of (if not) THE FIRST times that a teenage brown skinned black girl was viewed as popular, fashionable AND romantically desirable and nobody questioned it!

I agree with Adrienne. I hate when people exclude someone with an illness or disability from an endeavor because they have made assumptions about what that person can and cannot handle. It would be one thing if Lark chose not to be a part of the reboot after assessing her own readiness but for them to make that determination for her is presumptuous and discriminatory. Some times it feels as though society just does not want to deal with people with special needs so they just cut them out of everything...it has nothing to do with the person's inability to do the job. I don't think this reboot is a good idea. The main character of Saved By The Bell was Zack. It's weird to have a reboot without him. I saw an interview that Mark (who played Zack) had with Mario (who played Slater) and it seemed like Mario didn't want Mark in the reboot. Mark was promoting his new show, Mixed-ish and the Saved By The Bell reboot was brought up. Mark said he wasn't ask or contacted to do it. Mario has a big influence on the reboot (he may be an executive producer) and he jokingly said that they couldn't afford Mark. It was all pretty sketchy on Mario's part....he seemed embarrassed.
