What a Great Idea !! The Fact you both gathered them--then to be able to make a usable piece of furniture for Hanna out of them is so very Special. Those old trees could not have been used in a better way at this point in their life--So much better than rotting away in the woods or used for firewood.

Jeff, that shirt you were wearing while filming the acquisition of the logs from the woods. Apply that saying to your healing process. LOL Don't push it too hard and end up going backwards in your healing. I'll bet that wood will be THIRSTY for the sealer you'll be applying, and the weight of the sections will only increase. Gonna be SOLID though. Cool history behind it too.

Awesome video!!! I don’t believe people can fathom how much that wood actually weighs. I work in a trust plant. We use high-grade lumber such as 2400, 2700, and 2850. Every now and then I get a 2 x 4 or a wider board that’s got the heart Wood in it. We can’t use that in trusses so I cut the pieces And smaller chunks and use that for firestarter. The bed looks awesome. I think I would still pound those nails flush. They’re still there, but I can’t imagine how much clearcoat you gotta put on that to keep from getting splinters. Awesome job keep the work up. Don’t work too hard so you can continue, doing what you do.

You're the true and original Captain America Jeff. The words that descride all regular carpenters as handy man or jack of all trades or do it yourselfer. Cannot be used to descride Jeff Baron.. You're the Master Artisan and Professor of Innovation and the Rembrant of Woodworking. And those are modest words to describe what you do with wood. Hanna's appreciation and joy is symbolic of the relationship you have as father and daughter. Love what you do and record for your fans to witness. Im even stealing from your vocabulary and saying Preciate Y'all and for a prairie dog living up here in Carnduff Sask Canada I do get some strange looks.
