Mr Brooks doesn’t understand that continually being loud and aggressive loses any effect he was hoping to achieve. Also, the nastiness towards the mother while the children are there will probably backfire on the dad.

I get so sick of hearing parents complain that "nobody" has reached out to them, they don't open their snail mail, they don't read their junk emails, etc. NOBODY should be more interested in YOUR relationship with YOUR child than YOU! No one needs to disparage 'dad' in front of the children, he doing that on his own just fine. It seems that the two older girls are more mature than both of their parents and it should never be there responsibility to accommodate for that.

The poor teen girl! She's been severely traumatized by her mother's mental health issues and is being forced to spend time with a stranger who also has a history of mental health issues. And when the she asks about it, probably in an attempt to gauge her own safety, she's met with aggression, lies, and verbal attacks towards the only stable adult in her life. The older teen made the right choice.

Having worked with many clients in these type of situations, it has always boggled my mind when they yell bias because the worker is stating the facts that are occurring in the case. Of course caseworkers are asked their opinions on certain subjects but they are normally based on the actions of the clients. This father wants the court to believe that he responded negatively to his daughter's questions because they were inappropriate. I also wonder what clients believe caseworkers get personally from attempting to "screw them over".

Considering most children's memory starts around 3 years of age, these two girls have spent about 55% of their active memory without "dad." Maybe "dad" is feeding off of Mr. Brook's energy and that's why he's presenting himself the way he is in court and wherever else the girls see him. If this "dad" ever wants to have a relationship with these girls, he needs to own up to the fact he could have been in their lives, and he failed to do so! He's too busy trying to blame the mom for keeping him away from the girls. All he's doing is forcing those girls to choose between the mentally ill mom who was THERE for them, and the dad who blames the mentally ill parent HE left his children with!!! One thing I know for sure...if this dad can't get his you-know-what together, the stepdad is going to be the man these girls will have in their lives going forward.

34:10 Amen, @OnTropolis! I was thinking the same thing! Dad is sitting there looking all PO'd he's having to be "bothered" by this entire process. Yet Mr.Brooks is complaining about what the mom & step-dad are saying to the kiddos? These kids have eyes and ears. Dad is doing an excellent job of "showing" these children what he's all about.

Yeah, bio-dad blew it in a huge way. The older daughter was on the offensive after years of questioning why her real dad wasn't in the picture. She was angry, hurt, and scared. He, on the other hand, fell right into the fight as though it came out of nowhere or only from the custodial parents. Dumb, immature, and perhaps not smart enough to anticipate the true challenges involved in trying to ride in with some sort of wounded warrior attitude. Mom has a very difficult road ahead with her health, that's a seriously scary and complicated diagnosis. Ultimately, step-dad will be the rock and foundation those children will rely on for the rest of their lives. Thank God for his love of that little family.

Holy smokes, there's a lot to unpack from this hearing. I had to pause more than a few times while witnessing the belligerent behavior of both Mr Brooks and Mr Miller because I was so mad I could have spit nails. The vitriol with which Mr Brooks addresses the court and the other participants is vile. The stunt he staged by calling mom to the stand to question her on alienation of the bio dad, knowing full well it would be objected to, was not only just despicable..it was an intimidation tactic. Mr Miller's narcissistic and victim mentality was difficult to stomach. When he stomped out of court all I could think was I hope he stays gone for another 7 years. I really appreciate your insight and commentary! I was giving you a standing ovation over here! 💞

I do have sympathy for bio dad. He has wanted to see these girls for seven years. I can't imagine not being in contact with my child for a week. I would probably feel paranoid, too. I wish he had been given clearer guidelines for the visits. It was sweet that he wanted the two girls to meet and bond. Bringing the children to court was a horrible choice. and I don't see the stepfather as any kind of Saint. He did participate in keeping dad away for seven years.

I think Grandpa Lawyer missed his nap on the days of all these hearings. He is from the days of the bombastic, loud, preaching version of law practice. The Hollywood version shown in the movies. But it seems like he has found a client who is just like him. This father is so caught up in his ego, he can’t see that he was not helpless in this stuff. Why didn’t he fight for access to his daughters seven years ago? Why can’t he call the court to get phone numbers he says he doesn’t have. Why can’t HE call the therapist and make the appt? He acts like he has no initiative at all.

Why dose everyone keep bashing oldest two bio dad? All we know is mum and youngest two bio dad lied too the oldest that dad is dead. We have an order from 2019 suspending dad's visitation for not exercising his rights. It's dam hard to find people when names have been changed. So we know mum changed the kids names, mum and new dad lied that bio dad is dead. It's very hard to serve court papers if you can't find that person and if you had tried but didn't serve the other part case dismissed. How can you have your day in court if you can't find the other party? You just fail to even reach the for step!

Nobody has ever said they were told he died except for dad's lawyer. So no, we don't know that. I don't buy for a second that he was looking for them. So I'm going to continue siding with the kids especially when he's behaved inappropriately with the one who was willing to give it a chance and visit.

No doubt mom alienated the father from the older children, but he wasn't living a million miles away, so he always could have gone to family court for visitation or custody, but clearly he was satisfied to pay his SEVEN DOLLARS A MONTH child support and just give up. Those girls know he gave up on them, did not care about them, left them with their unstable, scary mother. They're never going to want a relationship with him, and if he was smart, he would have excused himself from this case because all he's doing is causing them new trauma.. Too little, too late. I'm SURE that if he hadn't been given an appointed lawyer, he would not even be there, because he doesn't care.

If they want info, they will get that info faster and better than any adult and ya will never know they were in the room. Next, when are adults going to learn that kids have better memories than them. His kids remember everything, especially the bad. Noone had to tell them what happened in the past. 3rd, Dad keeps saying "should be a therapy session" Yeah, they know that and that is why they suggested it. Also, they told Dad and gave him the info for the physic eval at the last trial and even told him to reach out. He chose to ignore and blame everyone, including his own kids, but himself. I don't pre watch these, I edit and react in real time. I've always been very transparent about that. My comments are added as I watch and respond. Many times my initial thoughts and opinions have changed completely by the end, but I don't go back and delete them to appear like I'm "right" or had a different opinion initially. My gut response is what you see. Sometimes it's wrong, sometimes it's "unbalanced" but it's always honest. In this case, I'll happily own my snark. This dad is a joke. His lawyer is obtuse and offensive in nearly every case I cover with him. I can't balance an opinion on despicable people
