This is a Complete Masterpiece. Just Beautiful and so Authentic of the Civil War Period. Being A Civil War Relic Collector and History Buff and a Model Railroader this is just Totally Awesoke. This is what I always wanted to do but with the limited supplies out there I chose to go another Route.

I like how he modeled the fall season with bare deciduous trees. Very unusual!

Wow! WWI is my hobby. They had I think 3 foot gauge running supplies up as close as possible to the trench line. USA shipped a whole railroad to France. "Some day"I will build one! Congrats!

That was awesome! I always had a dream of building an 1830’s era model railroad with engines like John Bull, Grasshoppers, etc. This is pretty close to it.

Beautiful job on the wooden deck truss with arches. Many of those were built in New England in the mid 1800s although they were usually sheathed.

Thanks....great layout. Makes me want to do a 1880's era which is a little easier than Civil War.

If I were just ten years younger, my tastes would change and then some, and I would model the period just about a few decades later (1865-1895), but I would not copy existing structures, but only be influenced by the period. Then I could model 2-6-0's, 2-8-0's, 0-8-0's, and even a bit larger. Bernie, you are a terrible influence on me as I find your work quite inspiring.... almost like when I discovered the works of John Allen on my honeymoon in 1962. SMR locos are magnificent. I tried years back to get Snyder to exhibit at our Timonium show. I believe he was based in New Jersey. Did SMR do only American (4-4-0) types? Since I have around 2850 sq. feet, I'd most likely go to O scale.

I don’t remember if he said the locomotives were all SMR models but I remember seeing their booth at York a long time ago and they were beautiful. I almost bought one. Never did and now I’m sorry I didn’t.

Astounding MRR !!! One concern: There is a rumbling sound which I first thought was pos. a speaker under the benchwork emulating the heavy train's rumble. BUT, it continues even after the train has stopped. Any dibbs ? Is it in the camera ? Too bad the sound is faulty...Or, is it ?
@alpugliesetrains97532 ай бұрын
@MarkInLA there is some gear noise from the engines but it's not from the camera.On my end I hear no rumbling
