So the real question here, does having the alphabet lol get you more money? What's your experience with having all the credentials vs pay? Did it increase? If so, was it a big increase? An ok increase? stay the same? Did they throw more work at you because you have the certs? Just got my provisional, and starting this week, but I'm looking at getting these certs, but I'm just a firm believer that the industry will use you (like any other industry) for what you have, for the same pay and to me if the increase isn't significant, it isn't worth the headache. More work+ same pay = unhappy camper.

Good question. I have not been turned from a job. I sometimes have them fighting for me. I am always welcome back to a job. Is it me or my extra letters, it's both! Pay is how you negotiate your rate. I ask for more and if they cannot I move on or take on the job for opportunities. I never stay stagnant. I take every opportunity to learn. My career has taken me thru higher pay and many awesome experiences(some money can't by)

Were you traveling when you had the cross-training opportunity for the hours or were they cool enough to let you work in the position because of your prior experience and certification(s). I'm hoping for the latter since you've already demonstrated you're proficient in the industry? My aim is The Golden Crown 👑 but I'm very concerned of getting the hours. In Los Angeles, I just paid $16,000 pretty much just for the 400 CRCST hours (yeah, I know.) This 'college' has a monopoly over all of the hospitals in LA and the local market is saturated with recent graduates that they can offer low pay. I've figured out the school gets away with it because they provide a proven educated free labor pool for these hospitals. What SPD manager wouldn't love extra help for free?

My SPD manager says that at my internship hospital they do provide a flat amount for academic betterment. However, you must already be their employee. Think of it as tuition reimbursement but only $100-200 per year. It basically would cover this HSPA (formerly IASCHMM) textbooks.
