Engine install and first start on the 2012 Prius V
Bought the engine from SoCal JDM Motors

Well done, and thank you for the videos. I have a 2010 with 288k miles that I'm considering dropping another engine into. I was wondering whether you put a newer or different model year engine in the car? I'm considering placing a 2015 Gen 3 engine in my 2010 Gen 3 Prius and was worried it might cause compatibility issues with the computer/ECM programming (or any other issues)? Also, I was curious about the DK SONIC Ultrasonic Cleaner with Digital Timer and Basket you used to help clean the EGR Chiller/Cooler. Did it help at all? Worth the expense? I have cleaned 4 EGR coolers over the years and they are a bear to clean. After trying every chemical known to man, including diesel fuel, the best luck I've had is soaking them in boiling water with tons of powdered OxyClean, and then using a power washer as you were doing. Still takes a long time to clean. Appreciate your feedback.

The 2015 engine shouldn't be a problem, I don't even know what year engine I used in that swap. When you buy a JDM engine, I couldn't find anyway of telling what year it was out of. The ultrasonic cleaner worked very well, even after using the pressure washer I still got a lot more carbon out of the cooler using the ultrasonic with simple green as the detergent.

what parts did you replace?

Just all of the Gaskets, normally I would replace the water pump, but it was replaced 5 months before. That being said you will have to inspect everything as you disassemble and make a list of everything that doesn't look quite right. I order my parts from Toyota parts deal, not always the fastest place to order from, but much cheaper than any of the local Toyota dealerships.
