Which are the different methods for the measurement of partial discharge (PD) in power transformer.
@omicronenergy4 жыл бұрын
Dear Romit, There are many different methods to perform PD measurements on power transformers. Main offline methods: - According to IEC 60270: using coupling capacitor or bushing tap (single and three phase) - UHF measurement using UVS 610 sensor at the valve (ultra-high frequency antenna) - Acoustical localization using PDL 650 Best Regards your OMICRON team

For a site test what is the detection bandwidth of the MPD800 ?
@omicronenergy2 жыл бұрын
Dear Sue and Lindsay, thanks for your comment and for your interest to our videos :) The MPD 800 offers a wide range of filters. The bandwidth and center frequency can be adjusted for the best signal to noise ratio at site or can be kept the same as for the FAT result to have comparable settings. For the charge measurement (QIEC value), the center frequency and the bandwidth are usually set in alinement with IEC 60270. For RIV testing the CISPR or NEMA standards are followed. Good day sir, if online measurement is possible.. can I ask if Mathematical model of PD in transformer is possible?

Thank you because it's my topic for our thesis 🙏

Dear Mary, thank you for your interest! Simulating PD is a topic of research and the question highly depends on your goal. A model can only show influences, which are considered by the modelling approach. It would be rather difficult to cover all influences. So, the question is, what should the be considered within the model? PD are highly dependent on many influences (structure of the asset, geometry of electrodes, insulation material, quality and age of the insulation, by products, defects, temperature, voltage level, rise time dU/dt of the test voltage, electrical field distribution, start electron) and much more. In theory models can be found for physical effects, but it takes a lot research to get a valid model. For this reason, it makes sense to define the terms and conditions for finding a model and to focus on a specific effect. We recommend discussing the goal and following up on research based on the definition of your thesis. We hope this answer could clear some things up already! Sir is this online or offline testing on transformer.
@omicronenergy4 жыл бұрын
Dear pawan kumar, thank you for your interest! There are only offline measurements shown in this video but online measurements are possible as well. Best Regards, your OMICRON team

This is done on deenergized transformer, with open primary and secondary disconnectors. The environmental factor need to be considered (humidity and wet surfaces should be avoided while testing indoors ),as it will influence in results.
