Regardless of how the fires started, a lot of those wind gusts were 95-100 mph. That's a Cat 2 hurricane!! Nobody can stop fires with wind gusts like that. Respect to all firefighters and first responders for their bravery. This is absolutely catastrophic. 😢

i dont think anyone is thinking that the winds and fires are the fault of anyone (outside of any potential arson.), its the idea was most reasonable things done to help mitagate this situation as much as possible. I think most rationale people have some doubts. Now how much? We wont know until theres an unbiased investigation. Air hunidity rising due to longer days and wildfire steam and nucleation from airborne wildfire particles can make it come down strong in a whiplash weather move. - Wildfire debris getting mobilised and getting stuck along the waterways, causing dam effect flooding - Less mature vegetation to retain water and crusting from soil burning leading to more runoff Be sure to clean waterways and reconnect streams, and get anything you don't want seeping into the soil contained.

Paleoclimate records dating back more than 1,000 years show more significant dry periods compared to the latest century. If anything the last century has been a "wet" one for Southern California. Droughts and Santa Ana winds have been routine in California for millennia. Sorry, but "climate change" is just a way for politicians to push off responsibility for poor forest management. The reason you're having these mega wildfires is because of vegetation buildup. Historically smaller fires were normal and burnt out old vegetation growth, but that isn't allowed to happen in heavily populated areas. So it's incumbent upon the government to carry out controlled burns and culling. California has been pretty terrible about this for a variety of reasons.

Salt water into fresh water = intelligent liberal. The reality is that saltwater is not the issue. The issue is that they should have been doing reverse osmosis for the last 20 years. Israel does it.
