Man I had no idea there was even a speedrunning community for this game. I just assumed there wouldn't be much for a turn-based rpg on the ds. I love this game and I'm glad people are still playing it. Good stuff

YO, this is huge! Given that the US version has the bosses having so much more HP than all other versions, do you think the US version would still be slower even with this trick?

For the time being, the US version is probably faster for any%, but with the added difficulty it's probably not worth it. But there's an alternate method that probably works on all versions and hasn't been fully tested yet.

well I mean if people were speedrunning the 1.0 version of the game then yeah… it would probably save a little bit of time

but the 1.1 version of the game is superior just because of the decreased boss health, which saves a LOT more time over these glitches that are exclusive to the 1.0 version

This skip saves more time than the increased boss health costs, most likely. However the added difficulty probably makes it not worth for RTA. And TAS doesn't even go to gritzy caves.

BTW US 1.1 has the same stats as 1.0, they only changed the boss health in international releases
