I have been cleaning windows for nearly 34 years and vouch for the fact that this is very valuable information. I have only recently realised the value of trying to speak to every house in an area. The more times that you need to go back, in order to catch the elusive residents in, the more likely they are to not have a window cleaner when you finally get to speak to them (because they are always out!). Speak to everyone and you will find the customers that other window cleaners miss. Also, the more doors that you knock on, the sooner you will find an area where a window cleaner has given up. The answer to almost all window cleaning problems is ....Knock on more doors!

Hey Sid, I have been watching a lot of your videos and they are great, I started my window cleaning business in December last year, The canvassing is the hard bit!! but after watching this video I have been trying to go out everyday and i have been picking up 1 to 2 customers each day, however today I've picked up 8 new customers and 3 of them are full cleans (gutters, facias, windows and conservatory) proper buzzing lol, so thanks very much for sharing your experience!

When I knock doors I seem to get a very good response with basically just asking them would they like a quote for the window cleaning. I just say hi sorry to bother you I clean windows all around this way and I was just wondering if you'd like a quote aswell. People seem to like that. Respectful but still straight to the point

And offer a packets deal to do both gutter and windows. (face it you are on that ladder anyway) If they think that they get a bit of the price with a 2 for 1 deal. (the only thing lower is the fact that you don't have to drive there twice)

Hi Sid! I was wondering whether you’ve ever done canvassing just for gutter clearing? I would imagine you’d get less work than if canvassing for window cleaning? Just trying to work out how many jobs I can aim for/expect to get on a whole day canvassing, thanks 😊
@paulcampbell63162 жыл бұрын
Hi sid, hope you're back up and running after your recent a collision. When conversing do you ignor no conversing signs or miss those houses out ? Kind regards Paul.
@benaxon97216 ай бұрын
But if most houses already have a window cleaner how do you compete (other than lowering price). Let’s be honest most houses are already covered by another window cleaners patch. Any advice?
@roberthilson63272 ай бұрын
Also a great thing to do is go out and practice your canvassing in an area that you are not really interested in, especially the hardest one's, and you will be amazed how quickly you pick it up. It's all about confidence. And because your not bothered about the practice doors, it will remove all the pressure. 😅

Door knocking is finished, never knocked a door for work in my life ,Most have stickers on their doors advising against door to door sales, that's what the internet is for, save knocking doors, i do have people approach me while I'm working , to ask for a card , most just take the details off the van
