If measuring from google. Don't forget to times by your pitch. So I do W X L X 1.5 (P) X sqm rate. The 1.5 is the average pitch of a roof. So for every metre of length is a .5 metre in height as well

Why 1.5? Would it always be 1.5? When calculating
@PartridgeExteriorCleaning3 жыл бұрын
After seeing this I adjusted a lot of my online quotes and have started averaging it at x1.25 instead of 1.5. I’ve found 1.25 gave me the price I was usually thinking in my head once I started pricing in some extra factors like scaffolding or even hired help for the day. But some jobs especially large flat tiles I don’t even bother xing the pitch, I just count that as my discount for easier tiles to clean 👍

Thanks Sid, I've watched quite a few of your video's, all I can say is, what a nice chap, willing to help and give free advice. I was just about to give up on this roof cleaning, as of yet no customers have taken any quotes, but hay ho, still cleaning windows and keeping head above water. Thanks for the encouragement, keep it up. Many thanks indeed, regards Steve

Glad to hear it mate! It’s always annoyed me especially when I was new how secretive people were with pricing. It helps us all if we’re all charging similar prices so that way the most trusted and respected business thrive not the cheapest who often tend to be the least knowledgeable! Hi Sid, love all the videos and your honesty. I’m currently setting up a pressure washing business and wanted to add roof cleaning, but nervous of damaging the tiles, or tiles slipping, how do you approach this with the client, do you repair them if you can, and do you write a disclaimer as part of your quote? Hi Betty, glad you found the video helpful, and I’m glad you’re not up on a roof working at way at 80! :D I would highly recommend a company that is working from a scaffolding tower and using tools to scrape the moss from the safety of the tower. If you have any issues then contact me any time and I will tell you if you’ve been quoted a fair price or not. Try and do your research on the company as much as possible, ask for relevant insurance and check their reviews. Many thanks Betty, Sid

All depends on the contractor mate theres no set rate as far as im aware. Some people are £3m2 which is crazy to me. £10 usually works out pretty well for me. Average roof being 80m2 so looking at 800 quid.

Great advice, this is something I am looking at starting up. I have been cleaning driveways/patios for 3 years as part of my gardening services. This year I have started clearing gutters, customers are asking about roof cleaning. What attachment do you use on the Wolf Garten telescopic pole?
@PartridgeExteriorCleaning4 жыл бұрын
Great stuff, good luck to you. I use a freeman’s flexi scraper, it can be made with a wolf fitting or a fitting for WFPs is recommended having both options as room roofs the wolf and garten pole won’t reach to even with their biggest one.

I’ll be ordering from a company local to me but if you google tower scaffold hire there will be plenty of reputable ones. And 6m working height minimum but you may want to hire a 7m one on awkward or larger jobs but 6 should do any standard two story house 👍
