Hello I notice in the existing thermistor that electrical wires were different colors, to connect the new one, does it matter what side of color you connect them?
@PartsDrАй бұрын
It does not matter which side the wires connect to.

So I've got a Frigidaire side by side fridge freezer. The unit was freezing the refrigerator size but reading like 86 or something. I replaced the temperature sensor on the fridge side. The old one was burnt and now the unit isn't getting cold at all after plugging back in. Any suggestions?

I have a GE fridge just like this, how do I know what coil my thermostat and thermistor sits on ? Does it matter? I’m not sure what coil they were on when I took them off to replace.

It's ideal to have the parts in the same location as they came from the factory. If you are not sure, try referencing photos or videos of a similar model to yours.

Went through diagnostic mode of a similar model and it gave code 00 05 which is for deli pan thermistor. Only problem is, my model doesn't have a deli pan thermistor as the deli pan isn't climate controlled. Tested all other thermistors and they're fine, compressor is running, condensor is running, both evap fans work; but still no fridge or freezer 😢
I have this model fridge and the freezer is working fine, but the refrigerator heated up to 60 degrees. I cleaned all the dog hair off the coils and then found that the circulator fan wasn't freely spinning and it would randomly get hung up. Replaced that and the fridge is now cooling again, but when set for 34 degrees I get a temp swing of 33-50. Could it be that the temperature sensor is failing? I watched the video on testing them and it seems easy enough, but since it involves cutting the wires, is there a way to measure it from the main control board in the back?
@PartsDr4 ай бұрын
Yes you can test them from the back if you can identify the wires. Make sure the refrigerator is unplugged, and the wire connector is disconnected from the control board. Also, make sure to control the temperature of the sensor while testing to make sure that you get accurate results.

Should I replace this if the temperature does not match thermometer placed inside? Fridge is freezing my food, it says 40 but it’s really at 19 degrees inside my fridge

There are multiple things that can cause a refrigerator to not cool to the proper temperature including the temperature sensors. Try testing the temperature sensor as shown here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXPJoqKwg8x_j7s

My GE fridge just like this one keeps freezing over in the freezer section. i thawed it out a month ago and it has froze over again allowing it to only stay around 20 degreees when it should be 0 . I have already replaced the thermostat and defrost heater. Will the thermistor help me out or what other options are there ?
@PartsDr9 ай бұрын
Yes, a bad thermistor on the evaporator coil can cause this. Let us know what you find.

How would I know which thermistor to replace if my main fridge area doesnt seem to cool, and the temperature on the screen reads cooler than it wctually is inside?

You can test your temperature sensors like we show here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXPJoqKwg8x_j7s

I have a refrigerator just like this. Just having issues with it this morning took it apart it is not freezing in the freezer but it's not froze over either compressor is working fans are working just like they should

Is the evaporator coil getting cold at all? If it is cooling, it should have a light layer of frost on it.

I need to find the locations of the thermistors in my fridge. been looking for a long time and all the videos I can find are for other models. someone needs to do a video showing all the locations where ge put thermistors in their fridges
@sandys.189110 ай бұрын
Same with us. My GE model is GSS25GSHSS. We have the new thermistor but hubby has no idea where it's located to change it out.

My fridge fresh food section freezes so I run a defrost program which allows it to reach normal temperature but it freezes again after an hour...is it the sensor of heater?
@PartsDr Жыл бұрын
Are you saying that the fresh food section is below 32F?
@mauroaparicio1855 Жыл бұрын
what's the resistance
@PartsDr Жыл бұрын
We show the resistance in this testing video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXPJoqKwg8x_j7s

Changed all 4 thermistors, all fans are running, condenser is cleaned.compressor is running. Freezer will not get below 29°F. Another not the 10 awg is too small it will strip all conductors. It should only be used to score the conductor cover.
