my instrutor always said pilot should make a teardrop entry if approaching the fix from a 70-degree slice of sky on the opposite side of the fix and radial from the protected holding pattern. sometime when go around they give you vactors instead of publish missed approch....

I love your vidoes, and I look forward to seeing them every week! Do you think it's possible to be a long-haul pilot and raise a happy family, or would it be difficult? I believe it's your birthday soon, so I wish you a peaceful, successful and adventerous year ahead!

“Why triple the wind correction angle?” That’s because you fly three minutes after passing the holding fix before intercepting the inbound course again: one minute in the outbound turn, one minute in the outbound leg, and one minute in the inbound turn.

I have one question: Can I fly the track rather than heading on the entry procedures? So I don’t need to apply the wind correction because the track should already take into account the wind? Am I right? Thank you 🙏🏻

You mentioned that the turn should be done at around 30deg bank (due to the rule of thumb formula for rate one). However, according to icao 8168, shouldn’t the turn be 25deg max?

I was going to say, we do R1 or 25 degrees, whichever is less

re there any sort of education such as a High School Diploma collage degree or A GED?if so were there any GPA requirements to get to a flight school? Do instructors ask to see any of this before training?

Altitude is always the same.during holding? With eventual change request from ATC.... or is changed based on time you stay in holding?
@Pascalklr

Once you are in a holding the altitude is the same, but atc could give you a new one while flying in the holding ✌️

Just a quick video improvement tip. I enjoy watching videos with this level of accuracy. However the nature of such accurate videos leave a potential weak point. I, for one, get a tiny bit annoyed at the 0:50 on screen statement that goes "*below* FL140 ... 1 minute". I know, technically correct! But it also is a bit ambiguous as to what the 14'000 ft standard is (it is one minute). So for those viewers that enjoy (among other properties) 'the precise stuff', a text with "At or below" would give a better viewer impression. It is fine that you say "below FL140", no need to complicate matters, we know what you mean; it is just when it is put on screen as figures it can appear quite authoritative (at least to me). Then again I may be the only viewer that thinks like that (and even I enjoyed the video a lot as is) 🙂

I’ve gotta ask, how has someone gotten to the point of applying for an airline job and doing a screening if they can’t properly fly a holding pattern and entry? They’re really not that hard, especially when you get to use all the fancy tools you’ve got in a glass cockpit.

how long would it take you- from everything turned off to rotating up off the runway, if you where by yourself and you wanted to take off ASAP ( no checklists just as quick as possible) ?

After following your channel for quite a while, I'm gonna respond with a technical editing comment. There are always some many (brief) cuts in your vids - I count about a dozen in only the first 30secs of this post. I don't know if it's you or someone else editing your footage but it's causing this very 'restless' effect. Not sure what would be the reason behind it but please consider changing the way your vids are cut/edited/processed.
