Hi John. We have a "Plant Pigment Analysis" movie in the works that uses the same Spectrometer and software as this movie. (Watch for it in the coming months.) There's nothing special about our software setup for plant pigment analysis: we used Analyze Solution mode and manually adjusted the Wavelength axis to show just the visible range. If you use ethanol for the suspension, the Spectrometer's provided plastic cuvettes work fine, but you'll need to source glass cuvettes if you use acetone or ether.

Nickel(II) nitrate and crystal violet were used for absorbance and fluorescein for fluorescence.
