I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

The author does like to from scratch, kzbin.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.

Your creations inspired me to bust out my table saw and do some woodworking. I built a couple of trays for my friend's soap-making business. Your clear explanations helped so much and I actually learned how to cut a rabbet joint from your videos. Thank you for making such awesome content.

Even easier is double-sided carpet tape. (cloth type) Just leave it in there, no need to remove it. It's surprisingly strong as long as it's not humid. A few nails, some glue and that's it.

@huffster63447 жыл бұрын
I need to make mine mobile as well, but it is most stable sitting on the legs for hand tool work. I have seen several ideas for casters that are mounted to a board and hinged to the lower cross brace. Flip it under makes it mobile, flip it out and it's on it's legs again.

Yes, that would be a better option. Something I considered but as I only want to move my bench within a small area I've decided to just drag it around. I'm surprised just how heavy the bench is getting with the added weight of the storage so I may make a couple of skids.

Thank you - glad you liked it! Camphor laurel is not an Australian native either, it was introduced here and is now considered a weed. It grows like crazy here in our conditions and pushes out the native trees. The wood is very nice though! :)

We're having a similar problem in my community with bamboo. Also not native to southeastern Virginia, I have never seen a species of any kind, that is so tenacious and invasive. Anywhere it gets a foothold, it becomes almost impossible to deal with. One neighbor (who didn't care much for HIS neighbors) decided to plant some as a barrier hedge... now, 10 years later, it's 20-30 feet tall, and so dense that sunlight can't even get through. It had also devoured the neighbor's chain-link fence, and begun pushing up a concrete driveway. Anyway, sorry to drone on, Neil... you obviously try to reply to every post, so I know you couldn't have much time for chit-chat. It's just a good point that folks should be mindful of what they decide to plant in their gardens, or populate their ponds with...
@PaskMakes7 жыл бұрын
Yes people plant the same type of bamboo here too - can be a real problem. I do try and answer most comments, it feels the right thing to do when someone has taken the time to comment they deserve a reply even if it is just a 'thank you'. Although it's getting more difficult to find the time as I'm getting more and more comments by the day! :)

Yes, Camphor laurel is an attractive wood and smells amazing too! I believe it originates from China/Japan and is considered a weed here. There is an abundance of them in Australia as they produce lots of seeds that easily germinate in our conditions and they grow fast too. The biggest problem is they displace the native trees. But the timber is very nice to use and there is plenty of it.
