That router just fitting at 18:15 , that's pure woodworkers joy
@arayawoodworks5 жыл бұрын
Bart Huijpen i said to myself, what if the opening was another inch smaller? No router I guess 😂
@barthuijpen5925 жыл бұрын
@@arayawoodworks maybe with a shorter router bit you could win some extra space, otherwise a sharp chisel it is ! (Also very joyous)
@MMAFreakofNature5 жыл бұрын
Lmao my first thought was "ok did we plan for that to barely fit or did he get lucky as fuck because it's always like 1/4" too small anytime I do it "

They say pride is a sin but taking pride in your work is another story. That is some awesome workmanship and I found when you don’t like what you have to work with it is a fight all the way but when you love it like that box it is a joy and fun. It is odd how a set of tools that are the same for a coworker and I but if I’m using there’s I know it as I hold it.

this project reminds me of the old days when all we had for wood & tool porn were magazines like fine woodworking on the pages would be magical photos of incredible shop furniture & tool tills that a woodworker would build for his own visual enjoyment & inspiration.....

As I work on the finiahing touches of my roubo, it is so gratifying to see essentially the same amount of side to side shake on the Glide when you spun it at the end. This might be my next shop upgrade project. I need to recoup the lost drawers from old work e-excuse me work table.

I'm gonna end up with a guild project, but there is so much to learn I'd really like to see a series of projects that each build upon skills used in the previous projects. This is the approach to learning an instrument.... tried and true ! Please consider this. Thanks. Art from Maine.

I built a very similar cabinet just after completing furniture school. Around the time I was building mine, I read an article in FWW Magazine by Frank Krause where he advised never to do this because as soon as you get a workpiece clamped up to your bench/dead man, the tool you need will be in your cabinet, and you won't be able to access it. I ignored Frank's advice. And it has been to my own peril, many times. I still have the cabinet, 20 years later, and it has served me well, but if you have a different space suitable for storing your bench tools, you may consider building a cabinet somewhere besides under your bench.
