斎藤先生、31の杖はこんなにバラバラになってしまいました。 順番だけ覚えて、手前勝手な振り方でやることのおかしさがわからないのか。空手家や柔道家が理合を知らずに、四方投げや入り身投げの形だけ真似して「合気道だ」と言われたら、彼らは嫌な気持ちにならないのか。

reinterpretation of sanjuichi no jo kata, far from true

I find results with 'san ju ichi no jo kata’ and see other interpretations. Can you tell us what is more true? Very interesting.

The 31 kata was codified by Saito Sensei, with a very elaborate internal logic. So what is true is what he taught. Modifying the angles and even the strikes as can be seen here simply defeats the entire purpose of this kata, which is emptied of all meaning. Better create your own kata if you want to do things differently, otherwise the outcome simply makes no sense.

@@unixtohack the kata is that of Morihiro Saito handed down to us by his son Hitohira Saito. if one has to modify it, distort it, change the name of the kata not passing it off as 31 no Jo kata
