Life in the UK Test: do you need to revise quickly for your test tomorrow? #lifeintheuktest If so, this video series covers everything you need to know to pass the test. I go through the official UK Life in the UK handbook (3rd edition) on the UK citizenship test, and the 3rd edition Life in the UK book, and highlight what you need to know. OK so in this video we're going to cover the Tudors and Stuarts, which is part of Chapter 4 of the official government guide to the Life in the UK test. I'm going to cover the whole subject for you, including the points people struggle with in the test. If you stay to the end of this video, you will find some example questions from the Life in the UK tests on this topic, including some of the more tricky ones, so you can test whether your knowledge of the subject is up to standard.
Before we get to the example questions in the Life in the UK test for British citizenship, let's go over together the relevant section of the official guide. This sets out what the UK government expects you to know for the Life in the UK test on this topic.

Thanks for the content, this is excellent to validate to knowledge after reading the official guide (or even skip reading the guide). In 12:51 when you say "When James I inherited the thrones of England, [...]. Hi, Tom. I’m a little confused by the the first question, when Wales was annexed to the crown? You answered Edward I. In this chapter we did not speak about Edward the I at all, he was in power 200 years before the Henry VIII, and as you mentioned earlier it was during reign of the Henry VIII, Wales became formally united with England. Can you clarify which answer is correct. Is it Edward I, or Henry VIII ? Many thanks

In 1284 the crown of England annexed Wales under the Statute of Wales. But annexation and incorporation are two different matters, and the Act of Union of 1536 declared English King Henry VIII's wish to incorporate Wales within his realm.

The first question at the end of this video is actually in relation to "The Tudors and Stuarts" section in Chapter 3, rather than this video which is "A global power" section in Chapter 3. Dear Tom , I must admit that your videos are much helpful then the app we bought from the government website. my question is, I have fail a test and they mentioned that was 7 wrong . I am not sure if I had 7 questions wrong. I believe 3 or 4 questions I was not sure but not 7 wrong definitely. They have not send me a proof of the failure and they mentioned that they never send the test if is a fail or pass, they just give the results. Should I trust the test centre ? I paid for the test , can I ask my test result proof? How can I contest my test. I have study a lot but seems like that not many people pass the first test.

Hi Mr Gomes, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't pass the test at the first attempt. Unfortunately, no documents regarding specific markings of the test will be given once it's announced failed. You'd have to rebook the test. That being said, you can check out the Life in the UK test series on the channel to better familiarise yourself with the knowledge required to pass the test. English level B1 is the third level of English in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), a definition of different language levels written by the Council of Europe. At this level, students are beyond the basics but they are still not able to work or study exclusively in English. *I am really confused about the relationship of James VI and Elizabeth I* The test material is confusing. I have doubt something is wrong with it. The study guide says : "The queen of Scotland, Mary Stuart (often now called ‘Mary, Queen of Scots’) was the half sister (cousin) of Elizabeth I. "Mary Stuart had a son name was James VI." If above statements are right means James VI was Elizabeth-I's nephew in relation. Then in next paragraph the study book says: " Elizabeth-I never married and so had no children of her own to inherit her throne. When she died in 1603 her heir was her cousin James VI of Scotland. *so James VI was actually cousin or nephew of Elizabeth I?*
