I just passed the CASP+ today. I did get the virtual lab and it was VERY hard. I am guessing I got 1/2 of it wrong, but I know I did pass the other 3 PBQs out of 4. Everything you said you in the video is accurate and correct. I'm a Cybersecurity Manager myself, but I think the CASP+ is well worth it. At least for me. I probably will take the CISSP once I become a CISO. Best of luck! I also have my Masters in IT Management and Bachelors in Cybersecurity IA.

I appreciate how you explain things as well as the way you give your opinions and recommendations. I'm starting Aug 1 at WGU for cybersecurity. I just have the technical courses to take as all the academic requirements were met by my Associates in Science degree so I'm hoping I can knock it out in a year. I did IT work in the late 90's with no certifications and have been a stay at home dad / disabled Combat Vet for the last 16 yrs so I'm hoping to get back into the workforce and lucky the VA Rehab is paying for it so it's a second chance for me. Keep up the great work you do.

@@kisukeurahara3886 It was great overall. I started August 1. I had a heart attack on August 7. I didn't do any tests or papers after that for 3 months... I pushed and finished the last class for my degree on May 7th, and got my official graduation notice on May 17th. I now have my A+, Net+, Sec+, CySA+, Pentest+, CASP+, ITILv4 Foundation, LPI Linux Fundamentals, and SSCP certifications.

@@kisukeurahara3886 I am in the process to enroll for my Masters there now. I will be able to start July 1 if I want. I am leaning towards pushing it back to August 1. I just started to study for my CISSP. I will likely take that in July. I don't want to be trying to do both at the same time. It looks like I will have 4 classes completed due to the certs I have transferring in.

Just enjoyed listening to you about the breakdown of the CASP+ exam. I'm working on studying myself, cause CompTia is selling the voucher to take this exam for $50 before renaming the exam to Security X. Not sure on why they are rebranding the exam name, but if anyone wants to purchase and take it must do so before or by July 23rd.

I'm studying for the SecurityX beta using the CASP+ material. I'm taking it later this month, but they won't provide results until November. That'll suck waiting 4 months to find out if I passed, but I'm taking the shot because I have to take it anyway (CASP+) for the WGU Cyber Masters. The benefit is that it's only $50.

I had the virtual lab also and I clicked out thinking I could go back like it was a PBQ, I in fact could not go back (I at least passed). What happens in the testing facility is they also tell you your results aren't ready but by the time pearsonvue prints your results its printed there. It's a very uneasy feeling

I currently have Sec+ & CySA+. Planning on taking CASP+ in a couple days. Only reason is to fulfill IAM II/IAT III. Not my end game plan, but should definitely bump me up in job opportunities and pay grade. Taking it solely for the purpose of having greater job opportunities/promotion/better pay. Once this is obtained, time for CISSP/CISM, that's the end game plan for me (I've made it at this point for my goals).

Great Video on the CASP+ exam. I am currently heading towards the CASP+ although I do not see too many organizational requirements for this cert amongst the industry, but just for my own satisfaction, I do want this certification.

Is there any SIM that you got that you could explain, I know it might not be something that you should per CompTia Rule, but an example disconnecting it. I am going for my exam in two months. Thanks for this video. I have a master's in cyber security, C|EH and SEC+ CE but Need this for IAM level II per DoD 8570.

How do you feel like the difficulty of the CASP compares to the CISSP? I have CASP and studing for CISSP.
@CameronEvolved Жыл бұрын
The CISSP is more focused in management and you want to think like a risk advisor. You're not the person actually fixing the problem. The CASP is more hands on and in my opinion wants you to think like an engineer or someone who's going to actually fix it. I think most people struggle on the CISSP because they can't get out of that problem solving mindset. Between the two, I think the CISSP is a little harder, but they don't directly compare to each other in difficulty because one is focused on you immediately fixing problems and the other is more focused on thinking long term.

Big congratulations to you!! You are brilliant!🎉🎉🎉 Pleas bless me with some advice. I am currently enrolled to start my masters in cybersecurity at WGU. For me to secure a higher paying entry level job with more options should I get my masters in cybersecurity information assurance or the mba in IT MGMT and take the best certs in cybersecurity to match with it? I don’t have any experience or certs yet and my undergrad degree is in forensic psychology. All I have is 2 masters level courses I completed in cybersecurity policy and management from UMGC which are foundations in cybersecurity management and communicating problem solving and leading in cybersecurity. I hot A’s in both classes but decided to transfer to WGU. What would you do if you were me? MBA in IT MGMT with added certs or Masters in cybersecurity information assurance
@CameronEvolved Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I think at this point in your career, you'll be better off just choosing which one you're more interested in learning right now. The MBA is more business focused so you'll get more of those classes, whereas the cybersecurity degree is more focused in Infosec. Both are masters degrees though so I'm honestly not sure how much they'll help in the short term for people who are just starting in the industry. I don't think that one would pay more than the other for an entry level position. Good luck!

The passing percentage makes Comptia scary. I am into IT infrastructure since last 23 years and am working on various technologies like Azure AWS Microsoft Zero Trust technologies like Azure Sentinel Conditional Access IAM Microsoft 365 Defender Intune Active Directory VMware and hold multiple Azure M365 AWS VMware certifications And process based certifications like PSM CSM CSPO. LSSGBB. I want to now explore cybersecurity. I started by clearing ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity. Should I go for Comptia Security plus or cysa+ or directly try CASP ?. I have good knowledge of routing and switching as well
