Onwards part 2 of 3.
Part 1 here shows the tear down and external panels needed to be cut into to access the sill section, I had a few more discoveries on slight differences to later cars but all are easy to work around.
Here in part 2 we have the not so fun task of removing the last of the sill and clean up, remember I said not to remove too much material when stripping back, now is where it pays dividends :-)
Do not expect the panel to fit perfectly, they never were that good even from the factory ! you could spend forever making something better than it was.
Still we want it close enough and we have after all changed up a lot, on curved panels a few mm is all it takes to be out a lot.
This side I seem to have a small misalignment on the middle sill/floor return which I will need to correct, not a big job but we really do want it screwed in fast to fixed points and work to have it fit as best we can before we do anything else.
A bit closer though, the welding itself takes no time at all, this is not a big panel. It is all the prep that will make the difference in the end.
