Passengers describe 'sheer terror' on Singapore Airlines flight struck by turbulence

A British man died and authorities said dozens of passengers were injured, some severely, after a flight hit severe turbulence over the Indian Ocean and had to make an emergency landing in Bangkok. The airline's Flight SQ321 was flying from London’s Heathrow airport to Singapore, with 211 passengers and 18 crew members aboard, when it hit the turbulence Tuesday, bashing people around inside the plane. Like masks, like seatbelt. Some will never wear it despite the risks. Never take flight for granted. CAT is a huge risk factor. Like earthquakes, you never know where or when it will strike, and you also don't know if your aircraft will withstand the forces it can produce.

Investigations need to be carried out first. For all we know, they could’ve been fully aware of the air pocket but underestimated it potential impacts, or tried to rush through it so their target hours in flight are not exceeded or many other things.
