I think Astruc mentioned that the reason Ladybug's costume looks so basic while the rest of the Ladybug users don't is because she wasn't ready to be a superhero when she said "Spots on" so that's what she became and it stuck. I'd like to imagine if she was properly ready to go and confident, she'd be using her lucky charm outfit from the get-go. But that's more of a retcon than anything

Well both cat noir(cat walker) and Rena Rouge/Furtive have changed their costumes based on feelings and emotions, so it is possible, just... No ones told her to change her own, outside the lucky charm upgrade/power ups

Yeah I like the classic one but I wished the lucky charm outfit was the original design especially for the de evil lize sequence because I like the like the little black soles on her feet and in the de evil lize sequence the black soles gave much more vibration than the classic designs feet

yes, but not just that. she also never fully accepted the role even after she transformed, even though she put herself up to the task in the end, she never really accepted her role as ladybug in a whole until mr pigeon 72, where she put full trust in herself and her powers to where we get a costume that’s more her, more complex but stylish and a new additive to her powers (magic charm). once she realizes that SHE is the guardian (finally putting two and two together lol) she understands there’s no finite set of rules and she can make new ones to where it would make things easier, and finally being able to relax a little

I don’t see Adrien’s love for Marinette as too crazy a switch up. In my mind, he’s always had feelings for her without realizing it. Everytime he finds out she’s Ladybug it’s like Christmas morning for him. They’re both pretty much the same in terms of character, as in Marinette’s personality doesn’t have any major changes when she’s Ladybug. Also, once he realized his feelings it wasn’t just two weeks for his feelings to grow, as he has a year’s worth of memories of all their moments together and all the ways she showed herself to be someone who’s always there for him. While the difference between Adrien and Cat Noir made it hard for Marinette and Kagami to accept the side of himself that Adrien doesn’t often show.

I agree wholeheartedly! I had been friends with this guy for 9 months and probably started developing feelings for him for 1-2 months or so. One day I realized my feelings in a really cheesy way(like time stopping, heart pounding, all the other noises cancelling out kinda way. I even fricking stuttered which I never do and I thought stuttering when you realize you like someone was only a fanfiction trope) and it was like a flip switched. In my head, he went from "just a friend" to "omg he is so cute I can't stop thinking about him". We started dating 2 days after my realization because I couldn't keep my mouth shut and confessed in the first opportunity like Adrien lmao. We have been dating for 2.5 years now!

Passion IMO is the best episode of Season 5: Natalie was awesome, and continues being the Queen of Season 5 Safari was a badass, both in appearance and performance The writers actually let Cat Noir/Mister Bug shine, which is such a relief Adrien is getting better control over his love for Marinette, even if it still is BS Actually info on Emilie in the past that I want more of. What can I say? Ignoring Lady Noire’s flirting, this episode is great. I approve

Honestly, I wish Tikki would call Marinette on this. Maybe actual character development could’ve happened if, at the beginning of Season 5 when Marinette professed her “love” for Chat Noir, Tikki said that she had had enough and told Marinette that she was just avoiding her real issues with these stupid love schemes and switches. I thought Marinette would get development eventually. Instead, they’ve squandered the opportunity for her being a failed guardian and just made her ditch Chat Noir once again to chase after Adrien. And worse, Adrien is indulging her now. So she is never going to learn her lesson.

I always thought the kwamis influence their holders, but now it feels like it's dependent on how they feel as well as their mindset, as we saw with Chat Walker (Being more pristine, poised, and professional - while Chat Noir was wild and more careless and impulsive) as how their costumes are a glimpse of that.

I think it amplifies their desires or allows them to be the type of person they wish to be in accordance to the specific powers of the miraculous. It is why Cat Noir and Lady Noir are more flirtatious and sassy, and Ladybug and Mr Bug are more level headed and confident. It would also explain why Alya, Nino, Chloe, Luka, Kim's superhero personality are not too different from their normal selves. Or this change in persona could be only specific to the cat and ladybug miraculous as the strongest gems.

I don’t know if you know yet but he did use it when he akumatised Andre the ice cream man. The Problem is that ladybugs lucky charm is made specifically for the situation at hand, soo every time he turns back time, it’s technically a new situation, so ladybugs lucky charm modifies and it would go on forever since lady bug would always just find a solution. Also if he were to use the rabbit miraculous ( if he somehow found Alex in the future with it) then future Alex/Bunnix would help lady bug and cat noir out of the circumstance anyway. There is literally no way to defeat ladybug without taking her miraculous without her being powered up but that would never happen either as ladybugs secret identity would have to be compromised for that to happen, then it’s just checkmate from there and the series ends (unless bunnix comes from the future to fix everything which would end up where we started all over again since gave would still have his miraculous)

I found the American heroes to somehow be more cringe than the Parisian villains imo. I think one was like a MLB version of Superman or something, I don't recall much but the cringe feels. The icing on the cake was when Marinette was a real pos to Chat at a very bad time for a very stupid and hypocritical reason. I'd warn for a spoiler, but I feel that behavior from her really isn't a surprise to anyone at this point. Ikr? Marinette? Hypocritical? Wherever have I heard that one before? 🙄

I have more or less accepted the fact that once the Agreste Arc is done I likely will drop the show as it more or less the reason I have stuck around. I grew tired of the Love Square somewhere around season 3 and absolutely gave up on it by season 4, and Marinette as been annoying me since season 2 at least. But Adrien has been special to me. I am weak to Blond Boys with bad home lives and also the trope of the Big Bad Dad so his character just hits all my love. And while season5 so far has fixed many of its issues. I have trust issues and dont think the show will be able to keep me hooked once the Agreste drama is resolved.

Passion was a nice episode to see the dynamic of Mr Bug and Lady Noire and that Marinette is falling for Cat Noir more and more as well as Adrien for Marinette and to even seek out advice from Natalie on this and not SMOOTH BRAINED GABE is ironically funny. I like how Plagg and Tikki hang out in a semi careful manner and discuss the imminently failing love journey of their holders and Natalie is really being developed in ALL the right ways, and I mean that character wise, ya pervs. She was a much better Akumatized villain than when she was Catalyst for Hawkmoth becoming Scarlet Moth and she is defidently still a player in this Miraculous game and even Monarch can't manipulate her like all the other villains and yeah............this was a nice little followup from Determination but still adding more detail to the lore and story of this show.

Adrian and Marinette are perfect for each other because they are both weird obsessive and slightly creepy about their crushes. Also if Nathalie can request the exact power she wants and Gabriel can make akumas that time travel why doesn't he just akumatize himself or Nathalie to have the power to time travel. It's not like it would be suspicious as long as he fakes being mad or sad at something. He's even got the perfect excuse to have time travel by just saying he missed his wife or smth.

Theory I've had . Lila is gonna be Lila in the resistance and sabotage everything . Marinette is gonna snap out over it , Lila is gonna make it look like she ruined a plan by being suspicious of Lila as usual, and Chloe's is going to be the only one Marinette has left to try and talk to about Monarch when Aliah has a falling out with her and puts their friendship on hold and like wise Sabrina finally cuts off Chloe to help the rest of the class and she in general stops being a beta female . Which leads to Marinette and Chloe actually learning to respect each other and that they have things in common particularly fashion , superheros from other countries , maybe even video games and crafting. Chloe finds out the secret,and is responsible with it and Bada Bing Bada boom Queen bee and Lady bug are friends again when Marinette and Chloe are finally really friends and Chloe apologizes for her behavior and maybe even by some miracle Marinette apologizes for her bias Against Chloe AND Kagami . Even if she doesn't face consequences for it .

god i love that gabe (gabe!!) - adrien - nathalie interaction so much. the pancake saga where they prioritised their personal argument over what adrien actually wanted- as usual, even though they're trying to change. gabriel coming in with the de-escalation because if you think about it, he does have social skills- he was good at redirecting akumatized victims as hawkmoth- but he's just been using them to manipulate people. how both nathalie and gabriel's imminent DEATHS both raise the stakes and change the dynamic in the household. they for sure stepped up their writing game this season

Natalie did always have a little bit of protective instinct, but I don't think she originally realized how toxic Gabe was because love is blind and also shes been with him and his wife for freaking YEARS- I'd imagine Gabe must have slowly influenced her regarding Adriens 'safety'. Until, instead of saving his wife by using time travel, Gabe goes after the heroes. Then she snapped. She loved BOTH Gabe and Emilie. Gabe losing sight of what truly mattered in her mind, and instead of him finding a way to move on from the grief (Violent grief, but grief), his motive and his means get switched.

So the reason Marinette wants to pursue someone else is because she felt like she was too reckless when it came to loving adrian, its what caused her to accidentally lose her miraculous, plus, from her perspective she can't even speak to Adrian normally. When she was working with catnoir she never actually noticed how charming he really was, because at the time her only focus was saving Paris, and being in love with adrian. because she is trying to deny adrian it has once again given her a chance to see other options. I feel she genuinely has feelings for catnoir, she just wants control for once on who she can love, if not the boy of her dreams, then at least the hero of her dreams. As for Adrian he deserves to move on. Although I loved him being so passionate about ladybug he is understanding that no means no, and if someone doesn't reciprocate your feelings there is nothing wrong in finding someone new. Kagami was a fail for obvious reasons. In my opinion they clashed and didn't fit, Marinette however had always been there for him, was someone who listened to him, and to an extent does know him a bit better then everyone else. Because he was so obsessed with ladybug it was hard for him to ever admit he had real feelings for Marinette.

I think Nathalie was the best part of this episode, but honestly I also enjoyed Lady Noire because yes, she was flirty but she ALSO realized how creepy she was being. people (even you) don't seem to realize that adrien liking marinette and ladybug liking chat noir is justified. as much as i hate how the romance plot goes (honestly, wtf. just fuck already, we've already seen you kiss), marinette's relationship with adrien has gone closer season after season (For adrien's perspective), giving gifts, talking to him, bonding, platonically lovey-dovey (idk how either). i can see how adrien see her as a potential interest (other than ladybug). While ladybug finally has eyes for chat noir he's someone she can rely upon, no matter how much rejection she did to his invitation, or the fact that she's been neglecting her in the season 4, he never went against her. when he found out ladybug lost the miracle box because she made a mistake, he didn't blame, belittle, or let out his emotion to her, he stayed by her side even if the world is against her and promised they'll bring it back. (seriously, who wouldn't fall in love with him after that?) also, chat noir haven't lost his love to ladybug, like marinette haven't on adrien. he focused on marinette more to keep his mind away from ladybug plus all the things i've said earlier. whilst marinette...i don't know either. her excuse is so she doesn't lose focus on her mission (even though she literally admits on liking chat noir, her partner IN mission). basically just copium all in all adrien/chat noir is the best character in this series.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my issue with it isn't the fact that Marinette/LB fell for CN or that Adrien/CN fell for Marinette. I've been hoping for that to happen since season 3, and the way that they do it makes sense to me. The problem is how they react to the change - or rather, how Marinette reacts. I can cut Adrien some slack considering his upbringing, distinct lack of social skills, and the fact that he doesn't have any reason to think that being in love with her could possibly be a bad thing. But Marinette? I feel like she should be more conflicted about it than she is. She saw what happened in Chat Blanc, she knows what the consequences of loving CN could be, and yet she decides to pursue him anyway. Seriously, girl. What the heck.

I love early season 5 and especially this episode. I really hate how the show moved at snail's pace for 4 seasons and then cooked really hard for 1 season. The love square reversing was so interesting that I'm honestly mad it didn't last for long. I would've loved the marichat arc being a little longer and having more experiments with the love square as marinette "figures this live thing out". More scenes where ladrien are no longer interested in each other and just talk about their fame and people's expectations of them. Them talking and bonding without the cringe. Imagine if ladybug and cat noir actually dated for a few episodes only for them to realise it's not gonna work out. I'm honestly angry that they didn't do more stuff like this before. I WANT MORE!!

I am still so flabberghasted about how the venom works… so apperently it doesn't just paralyze you (maybe besides from the normal bodyfunctions otherwise the victim would die because they didn't breathe anymore) but also freezes all of you peripheral functions? Like Ladybug a hundred percent saw and heard adrien when he detransformed because he was in her eyesight… the only other explanation i can muster up that would answer all questions is that venom just freezes you in time, thus making excluding the breathing function redundant and also explaining why people just 'wake up' wihtout knowing what happened when they're frozen… weird misnamed power that one…

Looking back on all of this after the finale, I think what would’ve made season 5 (or at least early season 5) a lot more interesting is if Marinette didn’t figure out the felix switch until later and thought that Adrian was the one who betrayed her and gave all the miraculous to Hawk/Shadow Moth or I guess monarch now It would have given us a status quo change of the highest order making marinette secretly hate Adrian (secretly because she wouldn’t have a reason as Marinette only as ladybug It would also make the love square flip make so much more sense with Marinette trying to distance herself from feelings for Adrian and looking to Chat Noir Adrian’s side still wouldn’t make sense though IDK just a thought

This episode puts Reflectdoll to shame. I love this episode not my favorite, that's the next episode, but still very well done and shows how far the writing has come. The swap felt better and was more funny then before. And before anyone who loves Reflectdoll says anything I didn't think it was bad. I just think this was better done. Also the both of them not being able to tell the other voices out of costume has been a thing since season 2 so its not new at all, and is not only done by Adrian. The action scenes were great ,and the most engaged I've been with the action in a while. And Ladynoir was so funny. She new she was being weird, but she couldn't stop I guess it just what the cat miraculous does to you. Anyway very well done 9.5/10
