I wholeheartedly agree with this video! Lion King 2 is one of my favorites! As a kid, it was consistently the one I wanted to watch, certainly more than the original (although of course I do like that one too). In high school, one of my friends and I bonded over our love for the songs from the sequel, especially "We Are One" and "Love Will Find a Way" - which is my favorite romantic song from a Disney film. But I think you hit the nail on the head why this film works and what I most connected to - the story and the characters. Kiara and Kovu are spectacular additions to the Lion King world and I love that they stay consistent with Simba by showing how his trauma from the first film carries on into this one, that he's not instantly cured, but rather that his experiences continue to color his actions and viewpoint. Absolutely an underrated classic!

Fu was right to not give Adrien much responsibility cos he knew from the very beginning that Adrien did not have the freedom Marinette had. Marinette also got to spend more time with Fu, like when tikki fell sick and when she found the miraculous book in Volpina. Tikki told her that it's time to meet the guardian of the miraculous and so she did. That's why she learnt more about the miraculous than Adrien. Plagg could've done the same thing but then... he's just Plagg, more interested in cheese than anything else. Also, Adrien can't meet master fu like Marinette cos of his bodyguard so naturally Marinette was better fit for the role of a leader/guardian. I do wish cat noir would get more responsibilities now cos they've been treating him like an extra for so long. That made sense earlier cos he could easily be controlled by his father but now that Gabriel's no more and Adrien's got the rings through which he was being controlled, he'll be a better cat noir.

Btw, there WERE good games in the 2000s and early 2010s. It was 2013 and onward where shit hit the fan. 2013's Sonic Lost World was mediocre, 2017's Sonic Forces was purely awful and disappointing in many ways, and... that's pretty much all we got for the main series. It wasn't until 2022 that we got another game. Kind of insane. We used to get 2 Sonic games a year. Thankfully it looks like we're getting back to that rhythm of the 2000s. Thank goodness.

I really enjoyed the 2nd movie a lot. One of us is one of my favorites. I've listened to it in different languages many times. The cub at the end of the lion king was meant to be a boy, but they were like well we did that already, so when they started on the sequel, they made it a girl and more a father/daughter thing. She was meant to be his only child, until they made the lion guard and so now he has both, who are pretty close to age. Kovu isn't related to Scar, but then why does he look like one of Simba's family?

This will put a clear winner here, I find myself returning to watch Lion King II: Simba's Pride a few times a year because it's so enjoyable, aside from the times I watched The Lion King as a kid, I never have found myself yearning to watch it again the same way I do it's sequel!

I related so much to Kiara growing up and the film is absolute gold. I’ve never noticed the character development before but you are so right, it makes the movie so good. You watch the characters grow and change and feel how their upbringings have shaped them, but they can overcome past trauma, learn from others, and live peacefully

Like you said, I very much liked parts of it. But for a thing that's been marketed for years as the final season, it went out with a whimper. Moon, Sky, Sun, Earth, Ocean, Star, Dark. All seven forms of magic have an accompanying season, and what we're left with is one of the most inconclusive endings imaginable. One thing that pissed me off was that they forgot that Callum and Rayla never used the third Quasar Diamond. One was used on Runaan and the other on Aaravos. I thought they were gonna bring back K'ppar (Viren's teacher) but they never did. They found his coin in the castle pretty early on but seemed to forget about him entirely. I also agree that the Sunfire kingdom story should've been wrapped up long ago. And whatever the hell happened to the moon shadow blood assassin Karim used to take out Janai? I'm not saying you have to use every existing character in your arsenal, but she could've been an absolute menace to the heroes. Also the bird reveal was clearly an 11th hour cop out (same with Zym being able to talk apparently) and also Callum being super chill with Runaan doesn't sit right. Karim dying was hilarious but again, a waste of a character that's gotten more terrible as time has gone on. That said, I did like Ezran's arc more with hindsight, but again felt like he honestly didn't do that much in the grand scheme of things. His only significant contribution to the fight against Aaravos was capturing him. He gets the Nova Blade but proceeds to do nothing with it. The Terry, Claudia, Aaravos arc absolutely knocked it out of the park though. Shame the entire season didn't hold that quality. (Also I've been wanting a Terry/Soren team up since season 4. My only complaint on that front is we didn't get enough of them.) Queen Anya was a favorite since her debut, and the later seasons have only given me more to love about her. No complaints there either. Overall, I would rank the series like this Season 1: Moon (8/10) Season 2: Sky (9/10) Season 3: Sun (10/10) Season 4: Earth (6/10) Season 5: Ocean (5/10) Season 6: Star (9/10) Season 7: Dark (5/10) I think season 7 just missed too many marks considering it was the final season. One of the most inconclusive endings I've ever seen.

I think the idea is that the new girl is to be the new love rivel for Adrien. From the way she's speaks it, 'Almost' Sounds like she's threating Marinette in a weird practice mirror thing. I'm probably wrong and honestly, the idea seems pointless considering Adrien might be a idiot in the love department. But he's not that 'stupid'.

I way prefer the Lion King over the lion king 2. The music is better, the animation, the symbolism and story telling, is all superior. Keep in mind I prefer Hamlet to Romeo and Juliet. Two plots I can’t stand, is time travel, (outside of back to the future)and Romeo and Juliet renditions. They all pail in comparison to the original. Positives of lion king 2. 1. They didn’t feel they had to ruin Simba to prop up his daughter. Take note Disney, it’s possible to make your new character like-able, without destroying past characters. 2. More characters have story arcs. 3. Simba gets closure in saving his child without having to sacrifice himself. 4. Timon and Pumba. I can’t get enough of those guys. Loved their animated series back in the day!!

Season 6 is premiering on January 25th but apparently they're going to release episode 2 first and episode 2 is called the illustrator which means that this episode will likely be a rerun of that one episode from season 1 where Nathaniel gets akumatized hopefully not

My biggest issue with Fu is that he handed out the Cat. The Ladybug would be required but handing out the cat was foolish given that you’d be putting an unnecessarily risky price on the board.

In all seriousness, every time I day dream about this series and create my own characters, I always imagine making each season have a spirit like Jack Frost for winter. I always do Peter Pumpkinseed for autum and imagine them as the Halloween spirit. It’s a spooky scary season so I always end up having them accidentally fuel pitch a bit. You can almost parallel the scene where pitch tries to pull Jack in and Jack says no with another spirit that ends up saying yes. There are dozens of paths I’ve taken with these types of ideas, some where pitch is involved, other where he isn’t involved. Same concept with getting to use Halloween though. I desperately need a sequel!
