Apparently Patti describes this as one of the most professionally traumatic experiences she’s had because Sondheim chewed her out in front of everyone for not enunciating (the term she remembers is “garbled mush” after which she tuned out). It’s funny because when I wrote this I thought it was the most clear she’s ever sounded before or since.

I love the original broadway cast so much but Audra and Patti wow! Marin Mazzie and Audra did Ragtime together. Michael Cerveris-I remember him from Fame, wonderful voice as well.

After seeing the original cast recording far too many times, this performance is a very refreshing welcome. Lots of little differences between the two, some better and some I don't prefer but all over a great revival.

i appreciate sharing the upload -- and I realize KZbin's damned (often times petty) legal jargon puts a uploader in a compromising position...but, I simply can't 'get into' enjoyment-mode with superimposed chyron that takes up almost half the freakin' screen. Thanks just the same. All three artists are amazing.
