This song always brings a tear to my eye. I wish I had given my wife many many more passionate kisses before I lost her to cancer. It reminds me I should have actively loved her more and not let the day to day mundane things crowd out the passion we had for one another.

Scottie1040 Try not to cry because your wife knows you loved her more than anything and still do even now, when someone passes all that they ever were still remains, your wife is still with in spirit and soul and around you at all times so when you feel a little down and missing her just say out loud how much you still love and care for her and believe me she will hear your words. God bless

I remember as a young child hearing 'Come On Come On' all the time [along with Garth Brooks sadly] and even now 'Passionate Kisses' plays in my head when I think back to my early days of school. But it took almost 20 years after first hearing it to really get into the album and I am now hooked. All Chapin's albums are wonderful and sadly under played. One of the last true greats of a sadly dying type of music. The honest, touching and intelligent songwriter [yes I am aware of the irony of writing that as a comment on a song she did not write so please don't bother pointing that out.]

You can call this kind of music “coffeehouse country” if you have a mind to, but Mary Chapin Carpenter racked up a trainload of huge hits on the country music charts and served notice that one doesn’t need to be from the South to succeed. “Passionate Kisses” remains one of my favorite MCC songs, and so do “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” and “Shut Up And Kiss Me.” She still makes music today and issues albums for her many fans. There you go.
