16mm color/sound. Created by Alex Miklowski (advised by Professor Robert Todd, R.I.P., at Emerson College as a BFA thesis film). Shot on a Bolex with Kodak Vision3 500T film with supplemental super8 hand-processed color footage; re-shot with mattes & effects on an optical printer.
An experimental documentary about the filmmaker's own family; their language barriers and communication problems; cultural differences and how this affects art and the world around us.
Background: Alex Miklowski's family moved from Poland to the United States in 1992. Alex, her mother, and her sister obtained their US Citizenship in 2007; her father did not. In 2008, her sister moved to China. This film documents her sister's last few months in the States.
