Aubrey was a Speech-Language Pathologist, Donnie was graphic designer, but we both had a dream to travel the world and experience cultures. After three years of being married and dreaming about if something like this great adventure would be possible, we decided to quit the rat race and take on the world. We sold everything we had, quit our jobs, and took off! We don't know how long we will get to do this, and we do have a goal of getting jobs in the UK eventually, but we are going to live it to the fullest while we can!

Schwerin and its castle definitely did not disappoint! Do you have any suggestions of places in Europe or Germany that are MUST sees??

1st : Just write into google the words "famous castles in germany" and click on "photos" and you'll get a lot of suggestions. 2nd : You can do the same with a lot of cities in Germany. Write the name of the city in google and click on photos. You'll get a first impression of what you can expect when you visit these cities. I am going to mention a few cities here that have very beautiful historic centers or architecture. Could be interesting for you as your homeland USA is a young nation without historic cities that have been built some 1000 years ago or so. Try in google the cities : Augsburg - Braunschweig - Celle - Fritzlar - Hildesheim - Lübeck - Lüneburg - Landshut - Marburg - Melsungen - Münster - Quedlinburg - Schorndorf - Stade.

I really appreciate that you do not show parts of Germany which are shown by the majority of the You!Toube travellers. Please continue your great work outside of the mainstream!

Thank you! Germany is by far one of my favorite countries and have travelled it quite extensively so now we want to see all the parts most people don't get to go see.

In summer it is much more beautiful because there are growing roses and other flowers every where.

Great to see you liked Schwerin, especially in january (not the most common time for tourists). The Castle is the seat of the regional parliament. At 1:37 you passed by a really beautiful cozy café, the Café Prag (there is a coffee culture outside of Starbucks)

We loved it especially because there weren't many tourists we think! Well, we didn't mention it I don't think but we were looking specifically for a Starbucks because we happen to have gift cards and it was a way to save some cash. Otherwise, we have spent most time in cosy local places and avoided Starbucks if we can since we can get that same thing back home. Thanks for watching!

@@PassportTwo but when you go visit a second time please consider coming in summer. I dont know why but americans prefer to visit HH (license plate and short for hamburg [hanseatic city of hamburg]) in the winter for some reason 🤔😄 some sights (old elbtunnel, dom, "michel", elbphilharmonie, blankenese, stadtpark, townhall, alster, schanzenviertel, fischmarkt)

Hallo Passport two! Wenn Ihr das Schweriner Schloss, das offensichtlich eine 19.Jahrhunder-Kopie des Schlosses Chambord, ca.15 km ONO von Blois, Frankreich ist , liebt, müsst Ihr das Original des 16. Jahrhunderts besuchen!!! If you like this palace, you have to see the original Chambord Palace, France!! Incredible!!! Love your Videos!!! Already subscribed! Have a nice time!!

“What happened to her” Too many hands have been there. People can’t seem to resist touching sculptures, especially finely crafted lifelike details. My guess is that skin oils and normal soil on the hands have discolored the piece down through the years.

Too bad you didn´t put classical music under the video. Maybe some Bach? The dancehall-like music you have chosen gives a really nasty contrast to the beauty of the castle. Forget about Starbucks, in Germany you go to a Konditorei.

You need to see it in summer when the gardens are in bloom and the boats are out on the water: the water fountains are on then. The back views towards the water are spectacular when everything is in bloom, and makes you feel like you're on the Riviera rather than northern Europe! It's such an alluring atmosphere, you can pack a romantic picnic and eat on the grass near the water- it's so much fun!😍😍😍

a castle is a military fortress that may or may not be the residence of a noble as a second use. what you showed are palaces from a time where castles where no longer build. there are palaces build in the syle of a castle in the 18th and 19th century but there where still not castles but a palace, purly residence of a ruling noble without the intend to function as a fortress.90 % of the castles where abandoned between the 16th and 18th century. what was still there was systematicly destroyed when napoleon conquered germany. there are only a handfull of castles intact in germany and roughly 30 000 castle ruins
