See comments below. This episode was in 1962 and Pat Carroll lived to be 95 years old passing away July 31, 2022. Her most memorable role, however, came in 1989, when she voiced the sea witch Ursula in the Disney feature The Little Mermaid. Pat Carroll Says Her Piece: “No, she is not an octopus. She is a squid.” “She has six tentacles instead of eight,” The Emmy and Grammy award winner finished, sassily adding that this choice was made because fewer tentacles “[made the character] less expensive to draw.”

It's so absolutely wild to know that at this time although I think Johnny Carson was very well respected and loved by many people, I don't think he was quite known as a LEGEND as of yet (as he was in later years probably hitting the early 1970s onward).
@LaptopLarry3304 жыл бұрын
Johnny Carson was very familiar with CBS. He had his own prime-time comedy sketch TV show, "The Johnny Carson Show", on CBS during the 1955-56 season. Although the show got good reviews by TV critics, it failed to develop an audience, and was cancelled after one season. Johnny Carson made frequent appearances on CBS' panel shows, like "What's My Line?" and "To Tell The Truth". A couple of years later, ABC hired him to be the host of the daytime game show, "Who Do You Trust?" Carson did a lot of comedic stunts and sight gags for the show, which proved to be good training for him when he was hired by NBC to become the new host of "The Tonight Show" several months after this episode of "Password" was videotaped.

@@voicetube I grew up watching Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" in the 1970s to the early-1990s. I learned about Carson's early TV work from research on the Internet, specifically Wikipedia. I bought a DVD several years ago, that features about a half-dozen surviving kinescopes of "The Johnny Carson Show", which includes the very first on-camera appearance of James Arness, in costume, to promote his upcoming new CBS TV series, "Gunsmoke". Unfortunately, there are very few episodes of "Who Do You Trust?" that still exist. I believe that there is one early episode from 1958 or 1959 that is available for viewing here on KZbin.

Maybe for "Stooge" Johnny could have (in his imitated voice) said "Curly!" (Spoken as "Coily!" :-)

"Shemp" would have been more specific. There are other possible responses to "Curly," or even "Coily," but "Shemp" is a unique name.

I cant even find the word Pat used for balcony on Google. Keeps giving me Lowe's with my use of the microphone. Anyone know the spelling? I even tried asking for a French word with the microphone and said it. 🤔
