I think it’s interesting how they assume that married women are not working (outside the home) Back then many women had to work to support their families, when they would have preferred to stay home. That is still true today. Some women wanted to work, but it was more difficult to succeed in a career. Nowadays, it’s easier to choose a career. It’s almost harder to choose to stay home and raise a family because our society does not value that as much, unfortunately. I have one daughter with a great career as well as a family, and a supportive husband. My other daughter is a “work at home mom”, homeschools, runs a small farm, is a volunteer leader in a community children’s program, and people think she doesn’t do anything because she “stays home”. Both my daughters are very satisfied with their choices and I’m thankful that in this day and age, they have those choices. We support and encourage them both!

When I go visit a family friend, i'm forced to watch "comedies" on their TV. I've noticed alot of them are un-funny, with a laugh-track faking the laughter. It's an insult to my intelligence. They try tricking you what was said was funny, when it wasn't.

Really? For whom? Women who couldn’t get credit cards in their name? Rampant racism? For whom was it simpler? Vietnam war was raging, Kennedy was assassinated, civil unrest everywhere. Do you mean when people had manners? They are on tv- they have to have manners. Being naive to all the events happening doesn’t mean times were simpler.

Uh, it was miserable then too. Less visible. Vietnam war was going on, all sorts of civil unrest as well. You see a glimpse of a fun game where people come and on their best behavior- not an accurate indicator. People might have been more naive, and people “ stayed” in their place like women and minorities.

Okay, this would have to be done right but I think certainly Carol Burnett if not Lawford could have pulled this off: 4 "Pleasure" simply and I think in one clue it could be done with the single word… "Pain," YET said in that Password-ian way denoting an opposite and making sure to tilt one's head after saying "Paaain" (while tilting one's head slightly the other direction - before then slightly tilting it in the other direction AFTER the word is spoken…). Done just right, that would've gotten I think the answer in one clue (if not two) and because you're not gesturing pain, you would have gotten away with it as many players do with the head tilt denoting opposite :-).

Coincidence? She was introduced as Pat and called Patty by Allen Ludden. I think her name was altered to somehow protect the upcoming series. Could be wrong but having fun with this one! Although it would be a tough one, for "Infantry" it might be worth a stab at trying for "Baby" (to elicit "Infant") and then making gestures indicating that that's correct... but then maybe outstretching your hand and saying... "Military" ... (as I said, it would be a tough one it may not work but that may be the fastest way to the word - 1 of the toughest - if not THE toughest - I've ever seen in the lightning round). There is another thought: they are much looser with the rules as regards the lightning round and if I were Lawford and got the contestant to elicit " Infant" I might have quickly argued "Now come on, Allan, that's a tough word for the Lightning Round ... let's give it to her!" (said with a smile) and you know what?... I think Ludden would've given it to her :-)

It’s hard to look at Peter here knowing that in about three months his entire world and that of the Kennedy’s would crash in Dallas, TX.

Unpopular opinion - I did not enjoy this episode. Carol and Peter joked around entirely too much and they were both irritating and annoying. 🤦‍♂️

I kinda like that though, it's fun the mock rivalry and I'd sooner have unbridled reactions rather than deadbeat nothing, why not have some fun with the show?
