Another great closing comment by Allen. He truly believed in "truth, freedom and the American way." Unbelievable that 30+% of our population now believes in the authoritarian way : (

Agreed. This episode aired about 3 months after President J.F.K. (a very anti-communist President) was assassinated, and U.S.A. / U.S.S.R. tensions were very high. Did you notice the foul / sour look on Phyllis Newman's face when Ludden was taking about Radio Free Europe? Lots of commies in Hollywood and the theatre district of N.Y.C. for decades now.

@@susanrutherford866 Let's hope not! We are definitely facing a grave danger from within though. Captured communist spy plans (released right after WWII) outlined that the only way to conquer America was from w/in, by destroying our democracy.

For "Crisp," after the cereal references/clues, a good clue could have been, "Riiice……" (Said in that "Password-ian" way that indicates one is leading to another word). Once the contestant hopefully would say "Crispy," Ludden would ask for a form of the word and then hopefully the contestant would say, "Crisp." :-)

Password was "Crisp", and nobody said "Rice" or "Cracker". 🤕 Another episode where the dictionary judge guy must have fallen asleep. Pray tell; how does the clue "Thermometer" NOT violate the rules for the Password "Barometer" ?!?

It's a perfectly valid clue. It's not contained within the password.

I said good things about Buddy before I watch most of the show...it was actually not fun to watch...Buddy was far to competitive. Rather rude to contestants and everyone else.
