I forget that I’m 74 & grew up watching the news w reporter sitting at his desk, reading the news off a piece of paper in one hand, while holding a cigarette in the other hand w an ashtray nearby. In those days, smoking wasn’t seriously connected to cancer & “second-hand smoke” hadn’t been termed yet. Men used to tip their hats & open doors for ladies. People dressed nicely & had manners. Now, a 5 yr old will curse you out in Walmart. Profanity is against the law but never cited. Everyone embraced casual & anything goes. Kids didn’t dare run wild in public & you never heard shut up or curse words anywhere in public.

Bullbleep, nothing today compares to the 1960's crap..nothing.. I was alive in the 1960's. Some states and/or cities and counties did not allow whites and blacks to sleep in the same hotel. In Houston, ML BASEBALL not ML KING forced H-TOWN to integrate hotels..in 1962, or the new baseball team was going elsewhere. Ten days before opening day, it was changed. Some states did not allow blacks and whites to marry.. Do you have anything today that even compares to that, genius? Poor people had to pay poll taxes or they could not vote, and they were a lot more than ten bucks for an IDENTIFICATION CARD today to see if you were a citizen who could legally vote. And, if you trot out anecdotal reports of police treatment, to argue, I will destroy your argument with statistics. There is no disproportiate treatment as far as shootings, and killings are concerned. Let's debate it. Your move..
@mylesken6122
@mylesken6122 3 жыл бұрын
@@robertsprouse9282 Mr. Sprouse your argument that seems to be aimed at me is baseless. My comments do not deny the past existence as well as present day existence of racial bias and racial segregation and their injustices, unfairness, as well as harm. I suggested that they are not blatant in many societies. For example, the argument is not outwardly proclaimed that separate schools are separate for different groups of people but they are equal in their quality of education. I did write to a certain degree racial injustice does still exist. Regarding Martin Luther King Jr., his tireless efforts have greatly benefitted many people of all classes throughout the United States, not just Black Americans.

@@mylesken6122, here is your initial statement regarding SAMMY DAVIS JR's comments: .." ...brings to the consciousness very serious situations that existed, and to a degree still exist(today)." First, I never said that you were never saying in the 1960's that there were not any problems. And, I never said that there were not problems involving ethno-racial discrimination, today. However, it was clearly YOU that was/is saying the same kinds of problems that occurred in the 1960's, to a degree, still exist today. That was your quote..read it again...That was what I was addressing with my statements. And, while you try to imply the problem while not exactly the same is as severe as the discrimination from the '60's that I outlined, you still did not refute what I said; you need to prove to me that the problems today are even related in any degree to the 1960's problems that I outlined to you in my statements expressed. And, don't give me as you revealed in your statements, any lefty college lectures, race identity spiel of propaganda straight from the Democrat party handbook. I do not want to see any marxist claptrap as a rebuttal. You need to prove what you said with facts. Don't give me redlining, either. That has been illegal since 1989.. Also, DAVIS JR. was not referring to problems in the 2020's; was he? I know you referred to his separate but equal statement, but if you want to know what is killing the quality of education in lower income poverty-filled neighborhoods' schools today, look no further than the lack of school choice and vouchers to cure that effect. The problem is there is a forced monopoly policy- fueled by your democrat party's campaign fund providers= PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS UNIONS..and their approved legislators The poorly educated minority student problem begins according to every study you can see, to go away once school choice that introduces competition for public schools is introduced. A very famous black owned/operated inner-city Chicago school profiled by the national media is proof of turning around academically deprived black students from poverty backgrounds. College scholarships have resulted from that turnaround. That is undeniable. Now, I have a few questions for a lib/black lib(?) like you. Why do you folks in the demorat party never talk about single parent families, our of wedlock births and its determining of poverty or no poverty for black families? The numbers do not lie. Secondly, why do you endorse quick fix providing motivators to encourage promiscuity, and either aborted babies, or larger than the pocketbook allows families in poorer black communities? Could it be all of that campaign funding money that comes from the abortion enabling PLANNED PARENTHOOD a kickback after dems and RINOs fund them= a Margaret Sanger eugenics group, or that more welfare with bigger black families, especially single parent black families can lead to more 'entitlements'' vote buying by dems dealing with those vote pickers down on the dependency "plantation"? Unless you are blaming caucasians, you never talk about those things.. And, we know why.. Finally, why do you never assign responsibility to those black fathers who are cheating on their wives, boozing it up, having 8 kids by four different "baby mamas", who when they are home, physically abuse their wives and are on drugs at home, or away while they remain jobless? Again, unless you are blaming caucasians you never talk about that in your national party platforms unless you demand monies for job training programs that always seems to disappear once its allocated. Hmmmm🤔.. No, I will give you the same advice that black semi-conservative commentator CANDACE OWENS espouses: Until poorer blacks begin to not mix up blame with ultimate responsibility, blacks will always have these problems in the U.S. And, do not give me charges of stereotyping. Do you deny these problems exist, and that the lack of claiming culpability by black communities exists? Walking around and hiding behind skin color, or your ego's ideology and feeling pious is not solving the problems in the black community; is it? UNTIL that acknowledgment is done, poorer blacks will continue to struggle..Not until the buck passing stops, and only not until it does...will the situation change. And only then.. But, then democrats like you, would see your party go out of business..right? YOUR MOVE
@mylesken6122

@@robertsprouse9282 My initial statment was that it brings to the consciousness past injustices. Therefore. why should that cause your tirade ? You have taken my statemant out of context. Also, do not assume.my political party affiliation.
@robertsprouse9282
@robertsprouse9282 3 жыл бұрын
@@mylesken6122, nice try.. Here again is what you said, and by the way since its apparent you cannot refute don't try to label me by implication with a cheap, lazy, egotistially driven lib trick. "Tirade" was used by you for that purpose. Believe me, you don't want to read me when I am fired up, although we are getting closer to that. No, "tirade" was used to imply I am a hothead irrationally blathering so that you can save face in front of others and trick them into following your opinionated statements and marginalize my facts. One difference between you and I is I look at data, actually reality based fact, and divorce myself from my ego and any attempt at piety, and let the facts dominate the conversation, not my protective ego-shield. I am always willing to listen and be educated by facts and coherent logic. You? Just based on observation, not so much.. Now, here is what you said in regards to Davis Jr's remarks about separate but equal and the serious discrimination and civil rights problems in the 1960's : "...brings to the consciousness very serious situations that existed and to a degree STILL EXIST(my emphasis)..." It is your own words that contradict your last retort. You are losing the argument with yourself. You just said I took your words out of context. I invite anyone to go back and look at what you just said and your entire part of the thread and mine, too. You brought up the present in context with a comparison with the past. You made the initial comments in our by-play convo. NOT ME. I responded to your exact words, Einstein. If you did not mean WHAT YOU SAID..then..I suggest you write more clearly, not less ambiguously because it was clear what you said, and by plenary logic implied.. GOT IT, genius? Your move..if you can, and this time do try to actually refute and not democrat/lib-style flail away with either stated or both stated and implied namecalling. If you are a GOP'er, you are a RINO. OR, IF YOU ARE A GREEN PARTY person, OR LIBERTARIAN, you are still based on your responses and your recounting of college lectures dwelling on ethno-racial questions, a lib.. GO AHEAD ..your move, if you can refute..

Just love Sammy Davis Jr`s wonderful input and equality comments (not exactly jokes as it was a difficult time and he nailed it.) Just have to comment on the crazy smoking on the set --- Jerry Lewis did the same!

Allen did this the last time all 4 celebrities were playing too; ya know how he says that they have to write out a check for the other team's favorite charity? And then he asks "Are you ok with that?" What if they said no?

I forgot that Sammy had a glass eye. Watch @21:18, when he does his clue "Head" for Password "Skull". (After he takes his glasses off.) I knew this back in the 70's but forgot. What an awesome talent in an age of adversity. Peter Falk (Columbo) also had a glass eye.
