The essence of the Password game was more real when Steve Higgins was there, the table was simple, the camera shots were natural, it looked like a real table to figure out what the correct password was.

If the judges don't call him on it, then it's not considered cheating for this game. Giving abbreviations is cheating, that's why the red light and buzzer goes off for those. However it never happens during Jimmy doing anything you're saying, nor does the host call him on it either,,
