That man is correct. You have to buy real food and cook. Meat veggies and fruit rice beans etc.... If you buy staples like that it is much cheaper! Food overall is still sky high, but you can stretch way out if you cook. I have to cook everything now because last year I got diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I allow myself a Gluten Free pizza from DiGiorno once a week, so I do not have to cook on a Friday or Saturday night. That is it!

IDC what y'all say, buying real food IS MORE EXPENSIVE.Please hush 😂😂If yall want to feel high and mighty, think about those of us who ONLY BUY ORGANIC,NON GMO (which is real food) and its painstakingly HIGH A F!!! My daughter used to constantly get sick, i did some online digging, found out it was the food, and switched to completely natural/organic. She literally NEVER GOT THAT SICKNESS AGAIN. SOOOOO, while everybody is saying it's for people only buying junk, and want to look down, this is the REAL PROBLEM. FOOD SHOULDN'T BE A LUXURY IN ANY CAPACITY. (I swear most people just want to find a space where they can feel better than others and not just agree that every human deserves access to AFFORDABLE NECESSITY!!) Clown show 🙄

You have to make these companies suffer. You can’t keep complaining about the prices of items that you don’t need. Follow your basic good groups and learn to ACTUALLY go without. We’re not in a thriving era, we’re in a surviving era. And that means cutting back to the bare minimum to keep you and yours alive. EDIT: And yes, it makes me sick that fresh donuts that aren’t 1,000% fresh are thrown away in the daily. So much wasted labor, resources, and food.

You can get $50 per week for one person on basic staples. It's just that you need to learn how to cook it. People have 2 days off a week, that's enough to prep. Just listen to some music and spend an hour prepping so it takes 5 minutes to cook for the week.

Yo all groceries are expensive To the guy that says that people don’t know how to shop.. do you realize how much fruit and vegetables cost? Blueberries cost $5.99 for a small pack and $8.99 for jumbo Potato depending on the color like red, yellow or white they range from $6.23-$9 for a 5lb bag which ain’t much potatoes. Lettuce, celery and carrots range $3-4 $3-5 for 5lb bag of apples If you go organic A whole melon cost $7 Your spices for a small are $7.99. You will be paying double the amount for a big container of spices. Bread $4 just for 1 loaf Milk $4 Eggs $3.99 for a dozen Water depending on what you get whether generic or name brand. Name brand you be paying $12-14 for a 6pack of 16oz vs generic is $7.99 for 24 pack of 16oz Going all organic is more expensive than the cheap way (unhealthy way). Meats are the worst. You be spending over $20 for 1lb of meat especially them steaks that brother likes to cook. (I worked in the meat market and know the prices) $6.99 for 1lb ground beef $14.99 for 1lb pulled pork $25 for 1lb New York strip $8 for set of 3 pork chops $7.99 for 1lb of ground sirloin $40 for a rib stack $50 for cow shank $6-7 for 1lb of turkey giblets $3-5 for deli cheese $5-10 for that 1lb of sauce Pig Face meat brother and sistas love to eat so much of Really the idea of paying for food is a mental state. When in the beginning of time food and water was free man. Now you got these government institutions that make you believe you have to pay for something when in fact all of this stuff was for free in the beginning. Back then people knew how to grow their food and hunt for their meats and even fished. Now you got these co operations and government telling you that you can no longer hunt for your food unless you have a license. Look what they did to the Natives back then. Got them to stop hunting and got them to use government hand outs man. People used to be free till the government entities came in to make rules and laws that they themselves don’t follow. People back then knew the land, knew what was medicine and what trees and bushes produced good food and bad. And yet here we are today allowing government entities like the pharmaceuticals to dictate how we live and what we can and cannot take. They ban the good medicine so you rely on their junk medicine that makes you sick and pay them $$ only to get worse and take more and more of their junk instead of being healed. There’s no profit for a healed man. America is nothing but a cooperation.

Yet another reason why the government needs to get off its sass and regulate food prices as well as housing and utilities! Things poor people are struggling to afford are basic rights to existence! Food and housing are basic necessities to exist! So now the rich are playing the game of let’s have this country have 2 factions only the super rich and everyone else poor?! I’m all for some French Revolution justice if that’s what it’s going to come down to!

Bit of bright news: some stores do (lowkey) give out their nearly past due goods to community organizations. A grassroots non-profit in my hood has a connect and offers Trader Joes goods for free that are like 24-48hrs from their best buy dates, and it does come in clutch! Less waste for the store, and more food in kids bellies. It is also good food (breads, produce, pantry stuff).

Being on welfare is a fucking struggle for so many, but they’re not incentivized to do better because the system fucks them.

Another tricky thing to watch out for...is weights and measurements. Stores are "supposed" to post the price per Oz on the shelf so you know the price per amount of weight..if one follows that measurement...one sees how the "sale deals" actually cost more...why I don't shop big stores..hate those "3 for 5", buy 2 get 1...very deceptive ..for me, I shop little carribbean and Mexican markets, here in sw Florida.. everything's fresh and affordable

No offense but I wouldn’t get those donuts anyway. 1) allergy to mold cause donuts have a small shelf life before expiring. 2) flies. I’ve seen where at the stores, that flies got into the bakery hamper and were touching the donuts. And a person would come and package them up cause they are not selling. So they package for the shelf for people to buy but the people don’t realize those are old donuts. 3) $$$. Donuts are getting expensive to buy anyway. What used to be in the 90’s at the price of 50cents is now over $1 today. Dunkin Donuts just for 1 donut costs $3 in my area. So no not going to pay that much for a donut. And at the donut bar store it costs $5 for 1 donut. And they are not that great anyway. Who in the world puts lucky charms on a donut? That’s disgusting. All that is just plain sugar. 4) donuts based on the ingredients, can lower fertility rate and sperm count in men.
