Irene and Janet, I deeply respect you both and the work that you each do individually. Watching you come together in this interview was like Christmas morning! While listening, I had a really lovely moment where the truth of what was being said just clicked and then settled within me. This was great! Thank you so much! I hope to see Part 2 soon! 😁

I've had past life memory since I was 7 years old. Several of them I've verified thru historical research. I've done readings since I was 20. (I'm now 64.) Most souls on Earth today have past life trauma.

I’m still healing (myself), learning, and ever-attuning to grow towards a greater understanding/gnosis of how this works, ever seeking how I can best serve the greater good of All.

Janet's experience is very similar to mine. I too didn't know it was different and have seen past life since my earliest memories. it is incredible to sometimes just mentions something to a client and within seconds cellular trauma memory just dissipates. I too kept it very quiet for a long time, on guard and in fear of what seeing may bring into my life. Our own past lives and seeing can guard us from stepping into the ability. I tried very hard to "contain" it and not use my past life and psychic intuition but was literally pushed and given a pretty big "wake up" from energy and spirit. I had no choice but to be intuitive and see. I laughed at the "didn't know it was not normal" comment! How true! I too would happily move energy and thought it was something all could do, and we all can ;-)

Such an interesting topic. My husband and I have talked about dreams we have had, that feel like another lifetime. They don’t come often, but when they do, they stay around for a little while. I too have that Brian Weiss book. Maybe it’s time to give it another read. Thank you ladies ♥️

I’ve been fascinated by topics including spirituality, past lives and NDEs for many many years and I’ve had a very profound somatic experience during a past life regression myself. However, I remain sceptical about several aspects. I wonder whether the somatic release was energy from trauma in this life which was symbolised as another life? I don’t know for sure but it would allow a safe way for release of trauma. Also, many people report healing during and following a NDE and I’ve read ideas about what happens between lives. If reincarnation exists and we accumulate traumas in each life which are unresolved and taken into our next lives that sounds unbearable as we clock up lives. I would like to hope God ensures healing occurs between lives and wipes the slate clean if that makes sense with the unconditional love that is often reported. I’m all for the idea that we plan our lives in order to learn something specific, I’m less comfortable with karma. I really hope you get to see this comment and respond.

Hi Rachel, Seth here from Team Lyon. I'll have to answer your questions from a couple different lenses :) First, the somatic trauma lens - when it comes to healing trauma in this somatic, nervous system based way, it really doesn't matter when or even what exactly happened. We work with the experience of the body in the moment no matter if the wound is from last week or ten lifetimes ago. Now, in order to address your other ponderings I have to switch to my lens as someone greatly interested in spiritual matters who has been actively working on developing their consciousness through meditation for 20 years. So, the following is not in the somatic trauma healing book or backed by science in the traditional sense (though one could say it is backed by the science of conscousness)! My perception is that trauma in this life is almost always reflections of trauma from other lives, simply because most of us here on Earth who have been in the reincarnation cycle for a long time have accumulated a LOT of trauma by the time we find our way towards healing it. However, there may also be cases of souls who lived most of their incarnations on other, more peaceful and evolved planets, and they come here for the first time and it is the density and violence of Earth at this time that traumatizes them, and it has nothing to do with the past. Either way, I take comfort in the fact that a system will move towards healing and homeostasis far faster than it takes to become damaged, because in my opinion the organic trend of Creation is a movement towards healing and wholeness, rahter than entropy and destruction as many would have us believe In terms of wiping the slate clean after an incarnation I think that is an option, but not one that many take because they are too darn eager to reincarnate again, or because they don't realize they have that option. Exercising that option means NOT going to the Light (which is the entrance back into the reincarnation cycle). Rather, one would want to stay in the Void for a while and just focus one's intention on Source and reunion with that energy. I believe this would facilitate a return to the Godhead and a complete healing of incarnated experiences. That being said - it's possible there will still be some nitty-gritty stuff waiting for us if we return to being in a physical body here, simply because there may be some trauma that it is ONLY possible to heal while in that physical body.

I'm going to make two comments on this video. One will be before I've heard it, and two will be after. So here's the first one *at risk of complete humiliation but I don't care. So Irene says "where is the science girl?" is exactly the understanding I have right now...which is a yearning for 'science' [heck knows what that is anyway, and if that word is important, it's only important because of the collective buy-in to it being important] and so-called 'woo-woo' [and goddamn, a lot of it appears that way] is FINALLY having a conversation together and realising that this INFINITE Universe is WELL-CAPABLE of having the capacity to hold in its presence Paradox, Dichotomy, Juxtaposition, Opposites....so let this dialogue not only begin, but continue so that ALL of us (including me) are challenged out of our Boxes - the boxes being the definition of the areas that we think we're being 'free' in. It's a never-ending journey folks! #Yeslifeismadandawesomeatthesametime

This is so fascinating and at the same time completely abstract to me as I've never in my life experienced not one thing mentioned in this interview. It's a strange feeling, like reading something in a foreign language you don't understand, yet I'm so very curious to hear about how people can feel and perceive life that is so different than my perception. From that point of view, thank you for this interview.

This is a very interesting topic and conversation between you two which I really want to learn more about. I am a littlebit skeptical in the way that part of me believes this is true and feels it is true and part of me doesn't yet "know" it is true if that makes sense. It isn't as much of a certainty as some other truths I've come to know. One critique I have about this conversation and about some of Irene's other video's is that it is sometimes not clear what has been scientifically proven and what has not. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should only be talking about stuff that have been scientifically proven but it should be made clear what is science and what is experience. For example the ACE study is scientific, past life regression is not (yet). Sometimes seems that Irene has a somewhat lower standard of what can be considered proof than I personally would have. Anyway I always enjoy the vidro's nonetheless!

Hi 1101 100, Jen here from Team Lyon. In the approach that Irene teaches, we work with the symptoms from past lifetimes in this life time. So if you're feeling a somatic memory from being a soldier, for example, you would work with what's showing up in the here and now. Irene teaches the basics of how to work with your nervous system approach in her online intro course, The 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up, and those that want to go deeper join SmartBody SmartMind, her more comprehensive program. You can also work through this by working with a somatic practitioner. If you want to learn more about healing trauma in general, I'd recommend checking out Irene's free Healing Trauma training. Hi Jotina, Seth here with Team Lyon. We work with past life trauma the same way we work with trauma from this life - its all about working with what is happening the human system in relationship to the environment NOW. It doesn't' matter where or when the wound happened, the present moment is the gateway into healing it regardless.

Ppl who need help desperately, need sound info. I’m one of those ppl. The only way I could b more depressed would b being suicidal which I’m not but I’m trying desperately 2 get healed. Sitting on my couch n a frozen place is very dysfunctional & frustrating & I’m losing hope that any of this works. Most counselors don’t believe n EMDR & so far it hasn’t gotten me out of the freeze place. I truly am not trying 2 b rude. Could u think ab this? I’m not directing this to any person trying 2 learn only the teachers. My counselor thinks this is crazy crap & no she didn’t influence me. Ty.

Hi Sandra Oaks, Jen here from Team Lyon. I hear that the ideas of past lives and reincarnation don't resonate with you. This is understandable - some people deeply resonate with these concepts, other's don't at all, and other's are in the middle. Irene is teaching from her experience, what she's observed and believes. There's a concept from Gestalt that I'll share in case it's helpful at all. The idea is that we can take in information (such as that Irene teaches and discusses with Janet here) and then check in with ourselves to see what resonates and what doesn't. We can keep what does and let go of what doesn't without throwing away the whole kit and caboodle (or keeping parts that don't resonate). You might also check out Irene's book list to see if there are resources there that resonate with you. Books I Love - irenelyon.com/2020/05/17/books-i-love-plus-an-open-heart-surgery-analogy/

This topic undermines the credibility of somatic theory to the public. This should be on a separate channel. "Past life" trauma/theory is a new age subject that is rife with grifters and scammers who take advantage of vulnerable people. You're a large voice in the somatic community and there should be consideration for the vulnerable group you're working with--this is the equivalent to grooming people to accept fringe ideas as normal, accepted theory. Experiencing past life trauma is a SUBJECTIVE experience and I find it unprofessional to be promoting it.

Thank you! As someone who actually finds past life theories intriguing, I also find it irresponsible and disappointing that Irene has chosen to give them a platform on her supposedly science-based channel. "The Secret"? Are you kidding me?
@teamlyon3109
@teamlyon3109 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam, Seth here from Team Lyon. Thanks for expressing your opinion. I hear you that you believe reincarnation to be a 'fringe' idea and certainly everybody has a right to their own belief. One thing to note is that the vast majority of the population of the planet believes in an eternal soul and most major religions believe in reincarnation - Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Kabbalah Judaism to name a few. So while this video and channel is not about religion, it IS about addressing topics around trauma that are of interest to many, and this is one such subject. It is only in the West that reincarnation is thought of by some as 'fringe'. And even in the West, Quantum Physics has shown a great probability that we are existing in countless Universes simultaneously. Some scientists in that field have expressed the thought that 'past lives' may actually be 'other lives' that are happening now. So these kinds of ideas are not entirely out of the box of modern scientific thinking even in the West. At the end of the day, in Somatic Work, it doesn't matter what the source of the trauma is, as we work in the present moment with the body to resolve it, but many of my clients, and my colleagues' clients, and myself personally, and Irene, all have had experiences of declarative memories arising from such work, that are not of this lifetime.

@@teamlyon3109 Thanks for the reply. I find your response disappointing. I'm not talking about religion, I'm talking about things like this (an exaggeration, for sure, but it illustrates my point): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmTbppiOlqxlqKs At my most vulnerable time, I got pulled into these ridiculously cultish new age ideas, and I found them though "simple" concepts that you've highlighted in your video. They caused a lot of harmful thinking that I'm still trying to undo today. When I finally began to heal, it was astonishing to see how I fell for these scams in the first place because I could not see the RED FLAGS. And the thing is: I'm not unique. There were TONS of people dealing with unhealed trauma in the new age communities I frequented. Additionally, quantum theory, a very difficult to understand branch of science, has also been hijacked by the new age crowd (Deepak Chopra, anyone?). I understand that you, "Team Lyon", want to come from a good place, but how is your average, traumatized, viewer going to vet these ideas once introduced? As you know, trauma makes you vulnerable, it disables critical thinking. Why introduce spirituality at all, considering the type of person (which I assume is, on average, western) you're trying to reach? These concepts are something for a healthy mindset to explore--that's why I think this video is misplaced on your channel and irresponsible.

Past lives are not a fringe idea. Millions of people all over the world believe in past lives and many have had personal experiences that have proven to them that past lives are real. I agree that there are those who have brought an element of disrepute to the whole topic of past lives but there are also many of us who are very rational with both feet on the ground who have no doubt that past lives exist. What is needed is to keep this subject in the realms of normal beliefs and not mix it up with other subjects like psychic phenomena which is actually not necessary and might alienate many.
