Hi Annette, when I was spending time with my grandma as a child at some point we would often cook something that was then going to be served later, either for lunch or dinner. Pasta was something she would make whenever, just to pass some time also, so the freezer was always filled with some result of this spending time. She'd say, shall we make 2 eggs of pasta? That was just entertainment for some time. Radio would be on always and us together making pasta. Just another "game" : )

I get my chicken and duck eggs from a local humane farm. The birds eat everything, as they are outside most of the time, so they are foraging, eating bugs, wild seeds, flowers, whatever they find, along with standard feed. Their eggs vary greatly in size and color, ranging from lemon yellow to scarlet, depending on what they eat. They taste different, too, and it is so lovely to go visit the chickens and ducks and see how they live. I’ll never buy factory farmed eggs again.

I made homemade pasta yesterday and got out my hand crank pasta machine. It was so delicious and I wondered why I don't make homemade pasta more often. My machine only has angel hair and fettuccine cutters so here I am looking on KZbin for people who hand roll their round pasta. I just ordered a gnocchi/garganelli board because I find making pasta from hand to be completely therapeutic. I've hand rolled my pasta dough out before for ravioli, but I really love using a hand crank pasta machine as well. I recommend everyone who enjoys the art of pasta making try hand rolling your pasta dough at least a once or twice to get a feel for how thin it should be (depending on your pasta of choice of course.) Happy pasta making everyone. Thank you pasta Pasta Grannies for entertaining and teaching the art and love of pasta making.

I've watched this video about 6x. I love it so much. She is my favorite Pasta Granny. I wanted a rolling board like hers, but money is extremely tight right now (even just $6). So, I went through a craft box and found a hot glue gun, two runner bands, and a bunch of popsicle sticks. I fastened the popsicle sticks together like a deck of cards, with the two rubber bands. Then, I laid them on their sides, and hot glued a popsicle stick horizontally on each side of the top and bottom, and laid some phone books on top until the glue dried. I removed the rubber bands, and rolled the pasta along the ridges using a smooth, cylindrical pencil. It worked really well!
