In your book, you speak of using ink crayon over PanPastel. I’ve never heard of this. Can you confirm? I loved the video. Thanks.

Hi there - we will pass your comment on to Dawn. And will let you know what her response is. Glad you enjoyed the demonstration.

Awesome demo! What are those brushes she used to paint the sumi-e ink and where can I get them?
@eileenluther99154 жыл бұрын
I believe the brushes are paddle brushes by Liquitex. You can get them at Blicks, Jerry’s, most fine art stores.

Beautiful work Dawn ! Thank you for sharing your techniques with us . You mentioned using a white that you said was highly charged with pigment and pumice . What exactly is that product ? I have been looking for a white to use to cover on smooth paper .
@PanPastel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sara - Dawn uses Diane Townsend Pastel Dry Ground.

I enjoy watching Dawn draw (paint?); she is inspiring by her freedom of expression. The music is interesting but distracting.
@ursulaschneider43564 жыл бұрын
watching her, the music is there because it charges her to paint

Is it necessary to fix this kind of work?
@partingmist85504 жыл бұрын
I am super surprised that the pastel went on to that smooth surface that was crazy. Im also wondering how well or long it will stick / does it need a fixative. I prefer not to add fixative to my work so id be glad to hear more about that as well.
