Those that know of him though… Sad news, my brother, there are thousands of talented songwriters like Noah out there playing to the bar staff. You’ll never know many of their names, but if you’re lucky, you’ll get to hear their songs one day.

So today I've been blessed with the discovery of Phoebe Bridgers(and then everyone in Boygenius which I am still getting into), then Noah Gunderson.... I may never recover and I don't think I want to.

Been a fan since "Caroline" that's 10 plus years. Watched Noah grow like a "Garden" through "David", "Fire" and "Honest Songs". Cried through "Separator", "Family" and "Day Is Gone" Then "Ledges" but..this new EP "The Sound" is my favorite. Can't get enough! This guy has got me through many rough times, he's underated as a songwriter and a musician. That's how i really feel..

Love this era of Noah. First album I ever listened to by him, reminded me heavily of Ryan Adam's "Rock N Roll" with the just sense of rawness.

Wow! I love this so much!! And I understand feeling so completely, disconnected from who you are in the start of a journey. That's exactly how I feel about my life journey and choices and who I was immediately after hs. But I've learned everything happens for a reason. Try not to hate who you were in the beginning or what you made then. It has a purpose, and had a purpose when you made it. Even if your heart wasn't in those original songs, they touched people.

Nothing ever comes like it did when you were in it Just a memory of a kid, just a washed out finish Just a pain-in-the-ass Johnny Cash middle finger No shooting up drugs, no quitter is a winner Nothing ever comes like it did when you were in it Keeping nothing for yourself like a stone cold killer Now you're passing your people like a ship in the night Looking to every stranger for a fight Nothing ever comes, ever comes if you call it Choking like a dog, like a dog on a collar Open up your mouth, your mouth if you want it Listen for the sound, the sound, the sound is coming down Hoping that you like, that you like how you're living Relying on the kindness of strangers that you will be forgiven How many times, how many times will you shit on what you're given? How many times, how many times 'til you shut up and listen?

it's tricky bc he drops beats in the verse, so when you're expecting it to be a bar of four, he drops the fourth beat and starts the next measure.
