Pastor Charles Lawson - Silly Women!! (2 Tim. 3:5-6) FULL SERMON (OLD SCHOOL FIRE! '96)

Are you SURE you're going to heaven when you die? Absolutely positive you are BORN AGAIN? Or are you willing to chance your eternal soul and possibly end up in hell fire?? Why not make sure of the matter today, while there is still time? There is nothing more important than this matter, NOTHING!!
The good news is: You can KNOW that you're going to heaven. The Bible clearly states:
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13
You see, God wants us to KNOW and have the matter settled. There can be no misery greater than living life wondering if someday you will lift up your eyes in hell!!
The Bible so wonderfully makes salvation clear. It is a GIFT given of God that can not be earned in any way of our own doing.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
"NOT BY WORKS of righteousness which we have done, but according to his MERCY he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost." Titus 3:5
The Lord Jesus Christ made this wonderful, FREE salvation possible to any who are willing to receive it. You are invited to receive Him (HE is the gift!)
"For God so loved the world, that he GAVE his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Do you see what the verse says? It is simply BELIEF, or rather FAITH, TRUST, in Jesus Christ and his finished work on Calvary that saves. I am so thankful for these following verses that tell of man who sincerely wanted to be saved, and was told how:
"Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:29-30
The Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth, God in the flesh, born of a virgin, a perfect man (The GOD MAN) who never committed sin. He fulfilled the law of God and sacrificed His life on the cross of Calvary, shed His precious BLOOD as PAYMENT for our sin. He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!
Our sin separates us from a perfect and Holy God. We have no way to approach God in and of ourselves, for He is HOLY, righteous, perfect, and pure. He can not tolerate sin. So Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world, that we might be reconciled *(bought back) to God. We can come to the Father through Jesus Christ His Son!
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
You are saved by BELIEVING the good news of the Gospel, Christ's death, burial, and resurrection!
When you accept this beautiful truth in your heart, that Christ loves you and died for YOUR sins, shed HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD, and arose from the grave FOR YOU, TO SAVE YOU FROM HELL, and you simply say yes to Him (call upon the Lord), in child-like simplicity, offering nothing of yourself or self-righteousness to God, but clinging only to CHRIST'S MERIT and HIS righteousness, YOU WILL BE SAVED.
1 Corinthians 15 says:
"1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
Would you be willing to put your whole-hearted faith on Jesus to make it to heaven... instead of trusting yourself and your own way? If you say yes, and will trust what the Bible promises to every sinner who would believe on Jesus Christ, would you humbly go to God in prayer and ask Him to save you in the name of Jesus?

I was 30 in 1996, and so lost. I was using drugs and saw a demon come out of fire in the corner of my bedroom. It took another 22 years for me to be saved. Praise the Lord for His sweet mercy.

I was in high school getting in trouble in 96. Wish I had attended this church back then instead of going to rock concerts and getting high. Didn’t get saved until 7 years ago. I probably wouldn’t of wanted to hear what he had to say back then anyway. Well, by the grace of God I’m here now 😊

Yes, I was thinking the same. I was 20 at the time of this sermon & didn’t get saved until I was 39. At 20, I was searching for truth after an abusive relationship & fell into a strong snare of the devil - the New Age. Oh my, had I been saved back then my life would have turned out completely different. But God has been so merciful to me!

I also was a fool for so long, but like Joseph being betrayed by his brethren (I’ve played both roles). Or Judah sinning and taking Tamar. Ruth losing her first husband. Or Paul persecuting the church of God. All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. By his grace we are here, despite the suffering caused by foolishness. What a blessing to belong to the good shepherd, he came back for us! Praise God!!!

Thank you for posting all these oldies! They have been a true blessing to me. I believe I started watching this brother, Pastor Charles Lawson around 5yr ago? Don't think I've missed one of his sermons since. I also binge watched the previous recording. Now I have your channel providing oldies that I never found on Temples KZbin channel. So again, I thank you for taking the time in posting all these videos. I have learned so much about Gods Holy Word these past few years. This pastor is a wonderful teacher and seems to bring all the people in this precious book to life! The situations and circumstances in how they lived their lives over 2K yr ago may have been a different time but really are just as relatable today in so many ways. I do believe with my heart that Pastor Lawson Loves our Lord Jesus Christ. There should be no doubt in the minds and hearts of any Born Again Christian that God Almighty has anointed this man to preach and teach his word. The revelation, knowledge, understanding and wisdom God has given him to do his job is astounding! I thank God Pastor Lawson accepted his calling! I pray that God will bless you and your family and may he bless the people of Temple Baptist Church and their pastor.

That is really interesting, so if you where watching your kid on a rollercoaster ride you would only half believe that? So you believe he's your kid but not that there's a roller coaster, and then if you turned around to talk to someone and the roller coaster derailed and flew off the tracks smashing to the ground, and the person you're talking to is telling you it's happening while you're hearing it happen you wouldn't believe any of that huh?
