The first 5 times that I heard and saw this, I cried like a baby! I have seen it 100's or more times since then, and I am still almost brought to my knees. The deep bass is Tim Faust! He has a 5 octave range and0 his tenor is as beautiful as is his bass! He is my favorite, although each one is FABULOUS! I AM TAKEN TO HEAVEN WITH THEIR BEAUTIFUL CHORDS! We almost forget that there is NO music; it is entirely accapello! My heart is blessed, also! Their name is HOMEFREE! They have actually been together for 20 yrs., well maybe alittle longer! Tim also writes original music that they have recorded! I am so happy that you have found them. They are truely awe inspiring! Thank you for your glowing reaction to their SPECTACULAR version of "How Great Thou Art"! And OUR ALLMIGHTY GOD is truely GREAT! Thanks again!!! Oh, by the way, they have recorded at least 200 songs...maybe alot more! What a glorious MASTERPIECE, as is God's beautiful WORLD!!!

Home Free has made this my favorite Christian song forevermore. So pure, so REVERENT and glorious in those peaceful summer peaks of the Austrian Alps...I mean, if you can hear and watch this and not have your heart touched in some tiny way, you have shut yourself away from His love. But He will always forgive!

This hymn is actually a rare treat, because the man who sang "It is Well" usually does vocal percussion (spectacularly). Home Free's hallmark is extraordinary flexibility. The group sings everything from sacred to silly, but never profane. All four singers can sing any of the four parts, and all four are willing and able to sing lead.

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. You're going to find a load of wonderful music from 5 wonderful singers, and friends. The deep voiced one is Tim, he's the bass but has a range of 5+ octaves, with a beautiful tenor voice and a bass that has blown out speakers. The one with the cap is Chance, their baritone, though he does sing bass when Tim goes high. I think you'll enjoy their 2015 rendition of Do You Hear What I Hear? The guy there wearing the cap who you don't see in this video is Chris Rupp, brother to the beatboxer and co-founder of the group. He went solo in early 2016 but was joined by the whole group a few months later for What Child is This as Chris Rupp feat Home Free. Two very beautiful and moving songs.

A long lifetime I have listened to this song, and when sung well--especially in _a capella_ form--still today is one of only three or four songs that makes me cry (and only one of five or six that gives me chills) every time that I hear it. Praise God for His greatness and the many gifts and blessings he has given to us.

Good evening Pastor James ! WELCOME TO HOME FREE !! They are the only known country acapella (no instruments just voices) band. They sing a lot of genres but they stay close to their country roots. You may be interested in hearing their version of Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens...it's brilliant as well ! They do mostly covers of secular music but all of them grew up as church boys. There is nothing gospel about that song. It is not about worshipping God. It is about skipping gathering together with believers and substituting it with worldly music. It is done well and they sing it wonderfully. It's not what people think it is. Also, there is a commandment to not take the LORDs name in vain. The word hallelujah actually contains His name and is probably the most vainly used word on the planet.

Now she regularly asks if I want to show the youtube video and you notice that it touches her. She recommended it herself in her church community I always say that a song can be sung so well in such beautiful voices, but for me it is only perfect when it reaches not only my ears but also my heart and soul

From the far left of the screen is...Adam Chance (Chance) is baritone/Bass from Alabama...next...Austin Brown high tenor from Georgia...Tim Foust bass and then some, (cut his hair during the pandemic) from Southeast Texas...Rob Lundquist (Tha Beard...darker thicker beard) from Minnesota...last but not least...Adam Rupp the beatboxer/percussionist (he did sing this song and a few others but he would rather do the beatboxing instead) from Minnesota. Home Free is an amazing a capella group. They have a beatboxer (Adam, who sang “it is well) and no instruments and they are all amazing singers. The man who started out was the bass and he has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low but also sing high. They have so many beautiful songs. I found them during the pandemic and they gave me hope. They sing all genres of music but also don’t mind being goofy too. They also write and sing their own songs. Try Amazing Grace (they sing it with another a cappella singer Peter Hollens), O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know, Brothers in Arms (lots of bass). Enjoy! Yes, it’s one of the best version I’ve ever heard of this song too! Good reaction L & L. 😀

Another video where they sing How Great Thou Art is called "Home Free Kearny". A concert was cancelled due to a thunderstorm and audience members had taken shelter from it. Rather than disappoint them, the band walked through the rain, stood on a picnic table (without mics or any other equipment) and accompanied by thunder, lightning and flickering lights, sang How Great Thou Art. It speaks not only to their talent but their professionalism and respect for their audience.

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We'll save you a chair. You're about to be buried in Home Fries. Your next listen should probably be Man Of Constant Sorrow. It will give you a good overview of the men and their voices. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. Amazing. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his nomonica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up, and his drum solos. For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome. A basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob's smooth soul, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Make You Feel My Love, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

Great reaction! There are a lot of good gospel songs out there but until I met the Home Free guys I didn't feel the need to listen to those songs multiple times. I am not a Christian but I love good music. And the Home Free guys are phenomenal. These unique talents could get me into any church :-)

Tim, the deep bass guy, used to be a math teacher. Can’t you just imagine him telling you all you need to know about math with that deep voice!!!

For me,one of their best is O Holy Night. Also, they demonstrate their harmonies in Helplessly Hoping and Brothers in Arms...both are spectacular. The trailer is their cover of Maren Morris's My Church.
