Fun Fact: The beginning of the MV at the hands in the back represents "Hear No Evil", "Speak No Evil", "See No Evil". Also, the part where V is holding the cell phone (the scene with all the phones on the wall) in the background says "Save Me" if you flip it upside down it reads "I'm Fine". 💜

The Music Video, Explanation by Italian ARMY, & the official Dance Practice. Once you watch all 3 you may see that once you put them all together finding peace in the lose of someone you care for. It sure helped me. Also their song Magic Shop is a song that has healed many ARMY.

One thing I truly love our BTS music and messages is, that all of us ARMYs comes from all parts of the world, all different kinds of religions, ages, gender, socio economic status, and often from a background of different tastes in music. I feel like BTS makes music about what it's like to be human - all aspects of your feelings, your insecurities and imperfections, your attributes and your importance. Throughout their albums their lyrics takes us on a journey (which you will come to discover). For me a several (thousands/millions) people, BTS helped us in many ways. For me, I had a deep sorrow and unsolved emotions about loosing my best friend without actually loosing her (she got a traumatic brain injury from a car crash). She survived which made me so happy, but was no longer the person I knew. So for a long time I felt like I couldn't grieve the loss of my best friend. This internal conflict in parts figuratively paralyzed me. It's like part of me fated away and I didn't know how to deal with my emotions. 10 years after the accident I one day came upon BTS and their song "Spring Day". And it was like something just clicked. My brain and heart was finally speaking the same language. I was finally able to heal gradually more and more. I looked through a lot more of their songs, and I was able to find myself again. They reminded me of who I am. They gave me ME.

I thought that because I'm a Christian, I should always be hopeful or joyful. But there came a time when I started struggling with depression and I started asking questions like, "Does this mean I'm not praying enough, that I'm not Christian enough? What's the point of all this when I can't even imagine a future I want to be in?" I go to church and I don't tell anyone my life is crumbling around me. How can I explain my despair?" It's not fake love, but rather an inability to talk about what's in my heart. I'm not pretending, I'm just not opening my heart. When I'm asked if I'm okay, I say no but I don't explain why. But the good thing is, even when I don't tell anyone, I know there are people who continue to pray for me even if I don't open my heart to them. And BTS songs (the lyrics and the music) help me to process my thoughts and feelings at times while the more catchy tunes and their other shows distract me from my darker thoughts when they push me nearer to the abyss.

Thanks for checking this out! Yes the three albums were meant to show the evolution of self, with the first the more innocent and youthful love, often naive, and the middle album darker love and more about the dangers of losing oneself, and the last brighter and more about learning to love oneself, The had a campaign with UNICEF where some of the album and merch proceeds went toward fighting abuse against children/youth. You will often hear us say Love Myself, Love Yourself. The ‘characters’ portrayed by the members in this era’s MVs (and several other related eras as there is a whoooole thing called the BTS Universe (BU) that follows them through their story) are fictional, each with their backstory of fighting their own darkness. The member on the snickers bars - his character was abandoned by his mother as a child, where she handed him a candy bar and left him sitting by a carousel and he was expecting her to come back but she didn’t, so the imagery in the room he is in for this video reflects this backstory and the emotional pain his character holds in his heart. Sometimes the fake love we have is self created, where we try to substitute food or other material things into our lives and pretend we are happy with them.💜

BTS actually plans out their music in trilogies. They plan it out in three albums. the first trilogy talked about School, because BTS were school age - from 15 to 20 - when they debuted in 2013. Then they did a transition album to their Youth ERA, which was called 'The Most Beautiful Moment In Life' they had Part 1, Part 2, and Young Forever. Then WINGS Era was two albums - WINGS and You Never Walk Alone. So that one was a little different. The Love Yourself ERA with albums LY: Her, LY: Tear, and LY: Answer. Then they had Japanese versions of some of their trilogies. After Love yourself, they had Map of the Soul ERA, and they released two albums, but then the pandemic happened and their tour was cancelled and that messed things up. They ended up writing an album about the pandemic called BE and then three English pop singles. Then they released their anthology album. 9 years of amazing music. They went on a break after that to release solo work, before they had to enlist for their mandatory military service. Which all seven members are currently serving their 18 months of service (except SUGA - he did alternative service due to shoulder surgery - 21 months) They will all seven be back in 2025, and will come back together as a group. They renewed their contracts with their company. Thank you for reacting to BTS 💜 They are pretty amazing artists, and even more awesome humans.

Your BTS reactions remind me so much of when I first came across them. I'm a music fan and a few years ago they kept popping up in my You Tube recommendations. I'd never heard of them but thought I'd check them out. I thought they were fun to watch but completely pigeonholed them as a typical boyband. Not for me of course because, as a 55 year old guy, I was clearly not the target market. I continued to casually check them out from time to time though, but always with the assumption that it was me who was deep and them who were shallow. I gradually came to the realisation I had got that assumption entirely the wrong way round!

Fake love is all about understand what love really is it's about learning to love and accept yourself so you can really love someone else. How can you love someone with all their imperfections and faults if you can't do that for your own self. Fake love is changing everything for the sake of trying to get someone to love you so you are not being real therefore that love is not real. It reminds me of the bible verse's Proverbs 19 V 8 and Mark 12 v 31 where it talks about loving your neighbour as yourself. Yep if you can't love yourself how on earth are you going to be able to love your neighbour. This song is from the Love Yourself set of albums.

Love Yourself: Her Intro: Serendibity - you have just met someone new, you are a little afraid of the strength of yor emotion but you believe it will be something great D.N.A. - full on destined love, reincarnation etc. It's perfect Outro: Her - You will change/give your best to make it perfect even when you have to deny the "darker"/imperfect part of yourself Love Yourself: Tear Intro: Singularity - something is off, you know why - you are hiding from the stuff you shoved into your unconsciousness/ignore - you know it will hurt when you allow it up and it will happen but you ignore it for now Fake Love - you go from denial to aknwoledging of the pain/the loss of self and it outweights the love so the relationship is destroyed Outro: Tear - the oath is broken, nothing left but hurt and lies and loss Love Yourself: Answer Epiphany - aknowledging of why it hurt: you need to love your imperfect self first before you can love others Idol - celebration of healthy self-love It pretty much works with all kind of relationships outside romantic ones, too.

DNA was from the first of the trilogy, Love Yoursef:Her. The album focuses on ideal, new love you find and it was not about the love they wanted but about that they believe it is destined and written into their DNA to find that perfect soulmate. Fake Love is from the 2nd album of the trilogy, Love Yourself: Tear. This album talks about when the relationship is the not perfect and starts to tear apart. The imagery from the MV will be confusing because it relates to the fictional storyline, Bangtan Universe, they have across many albums, webtoon, short stories, notebooks and a mobile game. J Hope's character has a connection with candy bars and a carnival, V's with a phone and needng saving, Jimin's with water, Suga's with fire and so on.

Yes, it is a trilogy of albums!!! DNA was the title/main track for their album Love Yourself: Her (2017). Fake Love is the title track for Love Yourself: Tear (2018). And Idol is the title track for their Love Yourself: Answer (2018), which is actually a compilation album of the first two albums with new songs added. Hope you'll react to ON as well (watch the official MV, and not the kinetic manifesto one although its greattt too) because I'm curious to your reaction about it 😄

Hi! Just a quick clarification - ARMY refers only to BTS fans and not k-pop in general. BTS themselves have transcended k-pop, and have become their own genre, because there's not really a good word for what they do. Their roots are a blend of original k-pop "idols" and hip hop rappers, which was unique it itself. The small company was outside the major industry, independent, and the members themselves conceived, composed, wrote and produced their music, adding professional choreographers, producers, all support as time went on and funds allowed. They have worked hard hard hard, in the face of many barriers and even hate. Their genres go from ""lightweight retro" to art film to heavy rap, and it's said that "BTS paved the way". They didn't invent k-pop, they changed it, and other groups do their best to follow, but so far not there yet.

I think you will find as you go further into the BTS journey that most of their songs outside of a few from early in their career are not limited to romantic relationships. Much of their discography contains deep introspective lyrics talking about more universal feelings, relationships and struggles. Also, the Snickers bars actually has more meaning that goes into a fictional storyline that runs through several album eras, but it's probably too much to get into the Bangtan Universe (aka the BU) this early.

I read a theory that this song is about the struggles of being in the position they are - a lot of people build an image and expectation of who and what the boys should be and get mad if there is any deviation. The rules for Korean idol groups are really strict. Although, BTS has broken away from a lot of that.

All the sets are real. There was no CGI (other than the butterfly). Including the fire & water. Edit: Oh I forgot to mention at 12:53 their is actually a backstory behind the snickers bars along with other stuff in the MV. Fake Love is apart of a fictional storyline that runs throughout BTS MV's. In the fictional storyline J-Hope (the one laying on the Snickers bars) fictional mom gave him a Snickers bar at a carnival while telling him to close his eyes and count to 10. While he was counting she ran away and abandoned J-Hope leaving only the Snickers Bar behind. Same with the other members like Jimin (the one in water) and Suga (the one in fire) both committed suicide by those things. It makes more sense when you get into the storyline.

I think that there are quite a lot of christians in Korea, but they were originally a Buddhist country, so they are probably the majority. I think the song is about feeling you have to be putting on some sort of a mask to be acceptable or loved. We shouldn't need to hide our true selves to give and receive love.
