Far Cry 5 is an action-packed, open-world first-person shooter that builds upon the series' signature gameplay while introducing fresh elements to keep players engaged. Set in the sprawling landscape of Hope County, Montana, the game allows players to freely explore the environment on foot or by utilizing a variety of vehicles. One of the most significant changes in Far Cry 5 is the ability to customize the player character's appearance, offering a more personalized experience compared to previous titles in the series. The game boasts an extensive arsenal of ranged and explosive weapons, but it also places a renewed focus on close-quarters combat, introducing a diverse range of melee weapons to keep the action intense and varied. Furthermore, Far Cry 5 features an enhanced weapons ballistics system that takes into account factors like bullet drop over distance, adding a new level of realism to the game's gunplay.

He promised to help me, but he lied to lure me in and then I couldn't leave and had nowhere to go. This cult is actually what drew me to FC5 in the first place. It's *very interesting* for me to hear a Pastor's view on this because I grew up as JW(I left). Hoo boy, was I getting some uncomfortable flashbacks in the beginning where the Pastor was describing the cult specific language. It's true, these groups do have unique terms for each other and their own coded language that outsiders aren't used to. 100% right about the elitism & fear. I get a kick out of groups that say "we are the true religion and only way to salvation".

@AMaidenlessRunt I'm unfamiliar with real Christianity(everything was skewed by Jehovah's Witnesses). So I can't speak on that. I have no idea of what happens in churches, but was curious of how a Pastor, Priest, etc. would view the Peggies. All I know is to avoid millenarian groups like JW, Mormon, Seventh Day Adventist, Christian Science. All of these cults were created around the same time. I do have tl;dr issues with JW(more accurately, the ruling Governing Body instead of ordinary members) that are probably too long to get into here.

The craziest thing about FC5 was that Joseph Seed was right. He actually had a vision of the world bathed in fire. The nuke actually goes off, and he's not the one who launched it. Read the gospels. As in depth as you can so you can have as deep of a knowledge as you can to make the most informed decision. I’d say not just as a Christian but as a person, fight for a sure and firm hold on who God is. My line of thinking with that is that it would be such a waste to miss such an opportunity because you never know. Christianity for many is the most fulfilling venture of their lives. Don’t let your mother’s possible misrepresentation hold you back from what could be the best thing to happen to you. If after all that, you don’t come to believe in Jesus. The intro is one of the best video game introductions I’ve ever played imo because while Joseph is preaching to the sheriff, deputy, and the Marshall before getting arrested, he says “and behold a white horse” and the sheriff on the right has the last name of Whitehorse, and then he says “and Hell followed with him” as he looks directly at you, who inevitably tears his whole organization to the ground. And then eventually he’s proven right because the world does end and the nukes do drop. You can also hear on the (non-cult) radio throughout the game that international relations are not doing well and that the world is really unstable. I love Far Cry 5 so much.
@ltchugacast131
@ltchugacast131 2 жыл бұрын
You can also find notes that reveal Joseph knows how unstable the world is and went out of his way to get a nuke knowing if he detonated it in the middle of nowhere it would set off the worlds fragile peace. Joseph instigated the end to prove himself right. This is his greatest delusion. He believes he is the worlds salvation but if he would’ve just stopped at being a prepper cult the end wouldn’t have come.

Jesus DID say: "The world is very evil." Also, "don't be of the world." Also, "He who is not with me, will be against me." But he also said: "go and tell all nations." He NEVER SAID: "We are the nation. We're already big enough. Anyone who hasn't joined by now, unless I say otherwise, assume is the enemy. Take from them as you see fit." So that's where Joseph Seed most definitely crosses the line.

I am a muslim and in islam you cant call yourself a muslim if you have not accepted Jesus (peace be upon him) and yes he is a savior that will come during the end time, what was meant with “the world is evil” is that dont try to think that you will live a perfect and happy life this world is a place for trials and tribulations and the strong and pious will be the people of heaven. And the meaning of “don’t be of the world” the the solution to that don’t be too attached to this world enjoy it trough the good and the bad and be thankful because we were born with nothing and will go back with nothing except our deed, may God we with us through out life my brother! "Be not of the world" essentially means don't let the lures of the world (fame, fortune, sex, political power, money, etc.) become snares or idols. Because living for God is near-impossible when one of those other things starts becoming too important. So...similar. "The world is very evil" meaning, it is determined to fix our eyes off our salvation, and onto literally anything else, and human governments will more often than not grow evil if not pruned. I cannot give you an Islamic perspective on hinduism since I've recently started to practice Islam (like praying namaz) and recently started to learn more about it, but having met Hindus it was a good experience

Matthew 23:9 "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." This also applies to priest being called father, and should give you a since about the reality of the world we live in.

Matthew 23:1-9 “Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens [hard to carry] and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them. All their works are performed to be seen. They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels. They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues,greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation ‘Rabbi.’ As for you, do not be called ‘Rabbi.’ You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers. Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven.” what Jesus was saying was that he was condemning the pride and hypocrisy of the Pharisees of his time because they were teaching people many rules but not practicing these teachings themselves. They were showing off with titles of Honor such as teacher to exalt themselves those who teach God's laws must do so with humility and not put themselves above God in short. Jesus did not mean for us to literally avoid calling people father or teacher further evidence of this is shown in scriptures when Paul refers to our Father Isaac in Romans chapter 9 verse 10. Also Stephen makes use of the word father by stating our father Abraham Acts chapter 7 verse 2

@@jeseelopez6667 Alternatively, interpret the meaning of 'father' as 'creator' or 'maker', and have a much more accurate understanding of what was meant, going right back to false idolatry and the commandment against it. Calling someone 'father' is basically and acknowledgement to yourself being in a 'lesser' position in the context at hand. In the case of clergy, calling them 'father' is a reference to their supposed greater wisdom and understanding of the lord, not anything more than that, referring back to their role as a teacher to their 'fliock' as it were. People taking the wording in the bible literally makes me quite annoyed. We KNOW the bible has been translated (and re-translated based on that initial one, and so on and so forth) after it's original writing MULTIPLE times. The words do not exactly match up, so taking them literally is silliness. Same with the 'bible is the direct word of god' silliness. It is EXPLICITLY written by other people, talking of the acts of the biblical figures. With that comes some level of personal bias to the takeaways from what occurred, and the presentation of events. That is not to say there was any insincerity in such recollections, but that it is not 'from the horse's mouth', as the saying goes. On a side note, the strict adherence to the words of the bible (also the church in general) as an immutable truth sort of branches into idolatry, and involves ignoring many of the lessons of the new testament entirely.

In Joseph's defense I can understand the quoting of scripture of Revalations, because some of what he quoted unfolded in this game. Save for a few inconsistencies. "When the Lamb opened the first seal, I heard a voice as if were the noise of thunder saying come and see, and I looked and I saw a white horse and Hell followed with Him." The line was a nod towards the real scripture because in the game, your boss the Sherriff of Hope County was named Whitehorse and the Hell that followed him was the Player, and that they would bring destruction and fire to the cult.

For some on the internet, they speak against religion because they do not understand it therefore it is more comfortable for them to criticize or they feel as if their beliefs are superior to any other with no regard for others beliefs. I do not subscribe to any belief but it’s never harmful to hear the words of scripture and it can be educational and can provide a lot of wisdom for people who need it the most. Those who criticize religion simply do not understand life or understand that everyone of us are entitled to our beliefs.

I would disagree on “theophobia”, people are just making an extreme correction in the other direction. Religion has been VERY influential and controlling in the past, and for people that escaped the more extreme groups it can be difficult to “give an inch”, considering how damaging religious control has been. It’ll balance itself out in the future where religion won’t be seen as such a dangerous rabbit hole and these public spaces will be easier on religious-based discussion, but being wary of groups that still have power and are extremely influential isn’t “phobic”.
@Yodoggy9
@Yodoggy9 2 жыл бұрын
@@itsjohnnyr8560 I would disagree that most “don’t understand”, rather the public image of it hasn’t been favorable. For as influential as religion has been, it’s 100% their fault. Religion isn’t difficult to understand; in fact it’s fairly simple. The type of people that are so anti-religion usually come from households where religion was used as a means of control. Lots of pain comes attached to that, so dismissing it as “you just don’t get it” is extremely reductive and comes off like you’re speaking in bad faith (pun intended).

I love how FC5 brings actual problems and real-life issues of cults. Characters are not clowns most of the time, and villains are obviously insane but interesting. Whatever people say about the game, I love it. I find this realistic even more after experiencing such an action like cultists did on myself and my hometown. I mean, I replayed the game, and I found it pretty accurate to what bunch of armed, fooled people look like. And a lot of people complain about how people stay in Hope County when it's actual danger and risk, people do it, people stay to fight, trust me. This game is much more than you think. And I claim it's a masterpiece, except physics😂😂😂. I believe it's the best in the FC series, and this got one of the best soundtracks and sound designs ever made.

I will say one thing about Joseph Seed; he was clearly a true believer. He honestly and genuinely believed he was doing the right thing. Even at the uh... spoiler for New Dawn, you know what I'm talking about, its clear he was still faithful just got a different perspective on things. This obviously falls under robber barons vs people who believe they're doing right and it doesn't make him less of a threat but its harder to hate someone whose doing his best to try and build a society that would thrive in a post apocalyptic world than someone who just wanted to play god.
