Keithron - really loved your expert review! As a beginner, you’ve really set my expectations that is a good beginner set - a lot of the cons you mentioned I’m not experienced, so as I progress, I will most likely encounter them - thanks so much for posting this comprehensive assessment - Peace!

Hello my friend I spoke with you a while ago and I bought this Simmons titan 700. I found that the high hat super frustrated me and I could not get it loud enough. I do have a heavy foot I played with the sound and the kit edits and stuff like that and save a couple of hundred I believe I’m gonna go with this the DD max so I thank you so much for your review and a woman to let you know I trust you and I love your reviews and I thank you so much for doing these videos I rely on you and I’ve I really appreciate your reviews, so yeah I think I missed out on the giveaway of this kit, but that’s OK again, I appreciate your time and your reviews and you are incredible. I thank you again so much.

I did not download on phone ( oops ) but I did save myself 400 bucks and went with the DED 200 max- I can deal with the machine gun snare, ( I think ) but really it’s just gonna be to rehearse and jam out and get my chops back up- So I’m hoping I can get the hi hat real nice and loud on this one. Setting it up tonight - I hope I can ask you a question as you are a wealth of information drum my friend. !!!! Much love for the response- Looking very forward to this, Donner DED 200 Max .

Yes, you can also play in stereo, go to Pad Set, then to Pan, so you can position each tom and symbal where you want. Then click one more save and wait 5 sec.
@KeithronPowell7 ай бұрын
Imma have to try that. The average person that buys it is not going to dig that deep. I think when it comes out the box it should be set for that setting. That’s a critical setting in my opinion.

I’ve done that before and it really doesn’t get the attention for the effort it takes to make it. I’ll consider it since the drum doesn’t have a lot of kits but unfortunately, I can’t make any promises.

I know you're partial to Simmons but how would you rate this set against the Titan SD-50? My first E kit experience has been an older Alessis set that has rubber heads. I used it to mess around with and get back into playing after a long time away from playing anything. Now I want to get back into playing more and upgrade to a kit with mesh heads. I don't play anything serious it's just for myself and friends when we get together. I'm on the fence between the SD-50, DED-200 and the Fesley FED-1000(just for the hi-hat alone). I'm not a fan of the Alessis control module and the build materials of the others appear to be better in almost every category which is why I've ruled out the Nitro Max. Interested in your input since you are one of only a couple I can find that has experience with them all.

As a beginning drummer, you can only learn the basics on kits like these. If you truly want to become a good drummer, you need a good high-end e-kit or an accustic kit rather than a toy of a drum set. If you wanted to learn guitar, would you start with a toy guitar? Then why learn on a toy of a drumset only to spend more money down the road trying to make your e-kit better when just getting a good high-end e-kit will teach you properly and save you money in the long run?

How come the kick drum moves so much? is it the rug?
@KeithronPowell7 ай бұрын
My rug
@Iamadrummer7 ай бұрын
The rug is only part of it. Lower-end e-kits usually do not have the most sturdy of bass drum pads, and if they did, the kit would cost more. If you spend the money and get a good higher-end e-kit, they will have fewer or no issues as the lower-end budget friendly e-kits all have lots of cons and issues to keep the price low.

Hey Keithron Its Marco from Mexico, i like so much your reviews an your pov. please do a review of fesley 1100W.
@Iamadrummer7 ай бұрын
Why do you want a review of the Fesley 1100W? In my opinion, none of the Fesley, Donner, Simmons, or Alesis(but the Strata Prime kit is close) is worth buying as they are only toys of what a drum set should be. If you like e-kits to play on and you truly want to get good, you need to save up and get a good high-end e-kit that is 99.9% like an accustic kit. You can learn the basics such as rudiments and basic playing on a lower-end e-kit, but to get good, you need to play an accustic kit or a high-end e-kit that performs like an accustic kit.

Totally agree...it's impossible to sound like a real drum with the machine gunning!
@Iamadrummer7 ай бұрын
Real accustic drums played fast with the same velocity hits will have the so-called shotgunning effect. The same is true on a high-end e-kit with lots of depth in sound. In my opinion, "the shotgunning effect" should not really be a term used as the so-called shotgunning sound is not really a problem with electronic drums but a sign of fast precision playing even on an accustic kit. In order to not get the shotgunning sound on an accustic kit or an e-kit, your velocity of hits would have to be different to get different sounds to avoid the so-called "shotgunning effect". The problem with that is now the drums sound off and like you are just not good.

Subscribed! Thanks for the review and I agree with 99% of your assessment. I bought this kit and got it about a month ago to practice/play in my apartment. It works perfect for that purpose I might add. The only have a couple of complaints. First off, the snare was randomly playing the rim when I was just hitting the snare so I turned the sensitivity way down on the snare and it fixed that issue. It’s really cool that it comes with everything you need to begin playing right out of the box!! Of course you aren’t getting great items like the sticks and the throne. You are gonna want to get some better sticks and if you play a lot you might want to get a better throne as it is not padded well but hey,, it’s included in the kit so you don’t have to buy one if you choose not to. Most other kits in this range do not come with the throne btw. The headphones are cheap and the cord is way too short but again, the important thing is that it comes with the kit. Finally, without going into too much detail and rehashing what was said in this video, the controller is kinda difficult to master and the booklet isn’t all that clear so there is some trial and error that you’ll need to work out for yourself. I like that you can choke the cymbals which I didn’t expect and the quality of the kick drum pedal surprised me. It is of good quality imho. This is a perfect kit for beginners of any age and perfect for practicing in an apartment. Overall it’s a great kit for the price and I am glad that I chose this vs the Alesis as every review says that this kit is superior. Not by a huge margin but the little things add up. Great video though and I’ll be looking forward to your future vids.

This was valuable input... I'm not a 'drummer', but I am looking for a kit that isn't a toy to use as a trigger (MIDI) in my home project studio. I don't have a live room, but I've got a very nice digital setup that I would like a kit for an interface with EZ Drummer 3 (Mac, Logic Pro X). Thing is, almost every review of any edrums doesn't cover MIDI and using the kit as a trigger (controller) in a DAW... how it performs, any load on the system, etc... I also liked the Fesley 1000W... both the Fesley & thie Donner kit are both candidates... That all being said, thanx for this comment and Keithron for posting the review... helpful... 🤟😎

The shotgunning effect and the lack of depth in sounds are not a good thing, but for a budget friendly e-kit, that is what you get. The so-called shotgunning is there even on an accustic kit or a great e-kit with lots of depth in sound. If you hit an accustic drum or a good e-kit with the same velocity fast, you will hear what is referred to as the shotgunning effect. Lots of metal drummers playing blast beats on an accustic set often get shotgunning like sound. This is just from precision playing. If your hits are not consistent on an accustic or e-kit with lots of sound depth, you will not hear the so-called shotgunning effect, but it will also sound off and sloppy. If Donner fixes all the issues you mentioned, then this would not be a budget friendly kit as it would definitely cost more. I understand that you mainly review lower-end budget friendly e-kits trying to find the best one on a budget, but... In my opinion, all the lower-end budget friendly e-kits are just toys of a drum set. In order to fix all the complaints people have with budget friendly e-kits, they would no longer be budget friendly, and all those who have budget friendly e-kits and complain about the issues just should have saved more money and bought a high-end e-kit. I know you seem to like Simmons, but they only make lower-end e-kits with no plans to ever come out with a more accustic like higher-end e-kit as they claim e-kits are different than accustic kits and do not need to try and be just like one. I am curious as to why you do not have or review high-end e-kits? With all the budget friendly lower-end e-kits you have, you could have gotten a great higher-end e-kit. The good higher-end e-kits feel, sound, perform, and play 99.9% like an accustic kit, while the budget friendly lower-end e-kits you have and review are only like 25%-45% like an accustic kit. I understand that great high-end e-kits can be very expensive, but I definitely think they are worth saving up for. If you let's say you want to learn guitar, do you first start with a toy guitar? Then why learn on a toy of drum kit only to have a relearning curve when you go to play an accustic kit or a good high-end e-kit? I get that you can learn the very basics on a lower-end e-kit, but to learn dynamics, how to play all the zones like an accustic kit, 360° realistic feeling to play cymbals, and to play with the sounds and newaunces of an accustic kit you need a high-end e-kit and not a lower-end toy e-kit.
