such a huge talent not sure why he never cleared the board at country music award shows, oh that's right because he's authentic and writes just real good country music. takes ya right to west texas in a song. thanks Pat Green...

Everytime I'm alone thinking of my dad I play this song and let the tears flow. My dad was one hell of a man and I was half the person he was. I also left home at 18 in a 68 Chevy Camaro, my middle one got her grandpa's name (Harley). I've listened to this song a thousand times and have always cried but tonight was different, all I could think about was my grandson thats due in December and I smiled the whole song (my eyes did water up) but it felt like it was a sign from my dad that everything's going to be ok when he's born. Such a wonderful feeling i just had.

I lost my dad just a few days before my birthday this year while on deployment overseas. Flew halfway around the world to lay him to rest and he was a mountain of a man and my best friend I’m still currently overseas and I listen to this song to remind me of him. TY Pat Green for this

Lost my best friend in a house fire may 18 2019. He was 81. Went upstairs to save his wife. They never made it out. I truly understand the meaning of this verse. Thought he would never die. Rest in peace my brother. We miss you. Jerry and Shirlee Schack. We will meet again in that sweet by and by.

Pat this is maybe the second best song you ever performed. Ruby's Two Sad Daughters is still the number one in my heart. But this song, man does it ever speak to me. I'm a grown man that cries every time it's played. Thank you for making a performance that speaks to me so deeply. The third verse, when you speak of a "man we thought would never die" has so much described my own dad. Thanks again for this.
